Lucas: "There is a
tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. But omitted, and the voyage of their life is bound
in shallows and miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the current when it serves -- or lose the
ventures before us." -- William Shakespeare, "Julius Ceaser"
Lucas: "Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swaps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and
the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been
able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it's yours." - Ayn Rand,
"Atlas Shrugged"
Lucas: "E.E. Cummings
once wrote; 'To be nobody-but-yourself - in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means
to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.”
Lucas: "John Steinbeck
once wrote; 'It seems to me that if you or I must choose between two courses of thought or action, we should remember our
dying and try so to live that our death brings no pleasure on the world.”
Lucas: "As happens
sometimes, a moment settled and hovered and remained for much more than a moment. And sound stopped and movement stopped for
much, much more than a moment. Then gradually time awakened again and moved sluggishly on." -- John Steinbeck, "Of
Mice And Men"
Lucas: "As happens
sometimes, a moment settled and hovered and remained for much more than a moment. And sound stopped and movement stopped for
much, much more than a moment. And then the moment was gone."
Lucas: "What A frightening
thing is the human, a mass of gages, and dials, and registers, but we can read only a few and those perhaps not accurately."
-- John Steinbeck
Lucas: "And the little prince said to the man, 'Grownups never understand anything for themselves, and it
is tiresome for children to be always explaining things to them.'" -- Antoine de
Saint-Exupéry
Lucas: "Some people
believe that raven’s guide travelers to their destinations. Others believe that the sight of a solitary raven is considered
good luck. While a group of ravens predicts trouble ahead. And a raven right before battle promises victory."
Lucas: "T.H. White
said; perhaps we all give the best of our hearts uncritically…to those who hardly think about us in return."
Lucas: "Katherine
Anne Porter once said; 'There seems to be a kind of order in the universe…in the movement of the stars and the turning
of the Earth and the changing of the seasons. But human life is almost pure chaos. Everyone takes his stance, asserts his
own right and feelings, mistaking the motives of others, and his own.'"
Lucas: "Someone once said; 'It’s the good
girls who keep diaries. The bad girls never have the time. Me… I just wanna live a life I’m gonna remember. Even
if I don’t write it down.'" NOTE: That 'someone' was Tallulah Bankhead.
Lucas: "Nathanial
Hawthorne once wrote: No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself -- and another to the multitude, without
finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true."
Lucas: "Tennessee
Williams once wrote; When so many are lonely as seem to be lonely, it would be inexcusably selfish to be lonely alone."
Lucas: "Octavio Paz
once wrote; Solitude is the profoundest fact of the human condition. Man is the only being who knows he is alone."
Lucas: "Kahlil Gibran
once wrote; 'You're reason and your passion are the rudder.. and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either be broken, you
can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion,
unattended, is a flame that burn to it’s own destruction.'"
Lucas: "Charles Bukowski
once wrote; 'There will always be something to ruin our lives. It all depends on what or which finds us first. You're always
ripe and ready to be taken.'"
Lucas: "Joseph Conrad once wrote: 'Who knows what true happiness is, not the conventional word.. but the naked terror. To
the lonely themselves, that wears a mask, the most miserable outcast hugs some memory.. or some illusion.'"
Lucas:
"Stephen King once wrote: 'Time takes it all, whether you want it to or not. Time takes it all, time bears it away.. and in
the end.. there is only darkness. Sometimes we find others in that darkness, and sometime we lose them there again.”
Nathan: "Douglas Adams
once wrote: 'He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream, and he sometimes wondered whose it was, and whether they
were enjoying it.'"
Lucas: "And Hansel
said to Gretel, 'Let us drop these breadcrumbs... so that together we find our way home. Because losing our way would be the
most cruel of things.' This year.. I lost my way."
Nathan: "And losing
your way on a journey is unfortunate. But, losing your reason for the journey... is a fate more cruel."
Peyton: "The journey
lasted eight months. Sometimes I traveled alone, sometimes, there were others who took the wheel -- and took my heart. But
when the destination was reached, it wasn’t me who arrived...it wasn't me at all."
Brooke: "And once
you lose yourself, you have two choices: find the person you used to be... or lose that person completely."
Mouth: "Because, sometimes,
you have to step outside of the person you've been. And remember the person you were meant to be. The person you wanted to
be. The person you are."
Lucas: "Tennessee Williams once wrote; 'We all live in a house of
fire. No fire department to call. No way out. Just the upstairs window to look out of while the fire burns the house down…
with us trapped, locked in it.”
Peyton: "At this moment,
there are 6 billion, 4 hundred, 71 million, 8 hundred, 18 thousand, 6 hundred, 71 people in
the world. Some are running scared.. some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day.. others are just now
facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good, and some are good.. struggling with evil. 6 billion people in the
world, 6 billion souls -- and sometimes.. all you need is 1."
Lucas: "Henry David
Thoreau once wrote: 'Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit and resign yourself
to the influences of each.'"
Lucas: "Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote: 'All are architects of fate... living in these walls of time.'"
Lucas: "Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow wrote: 'All are architects of fate... so look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again.'"
Lucas: "Out of the
night that covers me, black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In the fell
clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeoninga of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade,
and yet the menace of the years finds, shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, how charged with punishments
the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul." – Invictus
Lucas: "Robert Louis
Stevenson wrote: 'you can not run away from weakness; you must fight it out... or perish. And if that be so, why
not now, and where you stand?'"

Taylor wrote: 'Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it
has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.'"
Lucas: "Every normal
man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag and begin slitting throats."
Peyton: "I read a
poem once about a girl who had a crush on a guy who died. She imagined him up in heaven with all the beautiful angels, and
she was jealous. Ellie is gone, I imagine her with the bad ass angels now. Hanging out with them in their black leather jackets,
causing trouble. But, I'm not jealous, I just miss her."
Lucas: "Most of our
life is a series of images. They pass us by like towns on the highway. But sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens. And
we know that this instant is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment, every part of it, will live on forever.'"
Lucas: "Does this
darkness have a name? This cruelty, this hatred. How did it find us? Did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and
embrace it? What happened to us? That we now send our children into the world like we send young men into war, hoping for
their safe return. But knowing that some will be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows, swallowed
whole by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name? Is it your name?"
Lucas: “Henry James once wrote: 'Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help
create the fact.'"
Lucas: "John Steinbeck once wrote: 'Change comes like a little wind that ruffles the curtains at
dawn, and it comes like the stealthy perfume of wildflowers hidden in the grass.'"
Lucas: "George Eliot
once wrote: 'There is no despair so absolute as that which comes with the first moments of our first great sorrow, when we
have not yet known what it is to have suffered and healed, to have despaired and have recovered hope.'"
Nathan: "Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself; to do a little more, to show you something
special. Something like this. Lucas is gone, but that doesn't mean the season is over. As a matter of fact, I say it's just
beginning. You might want to stay out of my way for a while. Life's funny sometimes; can push pretty hard like when you fall
in love with someone but they forget to love you back, like when your best friend and your boyfriend leave you alone, like
when you pull the trigger or light the flame and you can't take it back. Like I said, in sports they call this 'stepping up'.
In life, I call it 'pushing back".'
Nathan: "You know it's been said that we just don't recognize the significant
moments of our lives while they're happening. We grow complacent with ideas, or things or people and we take them for granted
and it's usually not until that thing is about to be taken away from you that you've realized how wrong you've been that you
realized how much you need it, how much you love it. God, I love this game."
Nathan: "You ever heard the expression
'The best things in live are free.' Well that expression is true.' Every once in a while, people step up they rise above themselves
sometimes they surprise you and sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard but if you look
close enough, you can find hope in the words of children, in the bars of the song and in the eyes of someone you love. And
if you're lucky, if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back."
Jake: "Once upon a time there was a Princess who lived in a kingdom far, far away; and in that kingdom there also lived a
boy and the Princess loved that boy and, so the two decided to marry."
Jake: "Now in this kingdom all was not well..."
Jake:
"So the princess and the boy were set to be wed and because she was a Princess, a call went out for a beautiful dress."
Jake:
"Now as the wedding day approached, the Princess worried about the evil King. Because, although he had not always been this
way his heart had grown dark and his kingdom had grown to fear and despise him."
Jake: "In the days before the wedding
the king surprised the Princess and gave his blessing to the marriage. But, the Princess was still torn for even though she
had found her true love it meant she would have to faithful handmaiden behind forever."
Jake: "On the eve of the Princess's
wedding a lavish feast was arranged. Friends and royalty were summoned from lands far away to join the happy couple for a
night of laughter and magic."
Jake: "As the night wore on a calm fell upon the land and all was right in the land,
if only for a moment."
Jake: "But the people had their struggles as all people do and they had grown to fear and despise
the King, whose heart had grown dark."
Jake: "But in the end the love between the Princess and the boy was undeniable
and true. And, over time that love would see them through anything. Magical things happened to them, things they couldn’t
explain, much like love its self. And, like most fairy tales the Princess and the boy lived happily ever after... at least
I hope they do."
Lucas: "At this
moment there are six billion, five hundred and two million, eight hundred and sixty seven thousand, one hundred and twenty
people in the world, give or take a few and sometimes all you need is one. For better or for worse."
Lucas: "William
Shakespeare wrote; 'Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds. It is an ever fixed mark that looks on tempests
and is never shaken. Love alters not with time’s brief hours and weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom.'"
Lucas: "My name
is Lucas Scott I'm a senior at Tree Hill High School. Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world, maybe it's a lot like
your world; maybe it's nothing like it. But, if you look closer, you might see someone like you; or, someone like my best
friend Haley. If you're married, a senior in high school, and not sure if your husband is still alive, your world is a lot
like Haley's. Today was supposed to be the best day of her life. But, it's amazing how things can change in a blink of an
eye, or in this case, in about 29 minutes."
Lucas: "The things that take 14 minutes: boiling an ostrich egg, Michael
Jackson's 'Thriller' video, it also takes 14 minutes to get from the Melina Bridge to Tree Hill Hospital. In those 14 minutes,
three lives hung in the balance. For the rest of us there was nothing to do but wait. I guess that’s why they call in
the waiting room."
Lucas: "'Someone should call Dan.' Dan Scott is many things: the mayor of Tree Hill, the
once great high school baseball player, and Nathan’s father. He's also my father, but he never claimed me. Believe it
or not, I got the better end of the deal. I was instead raised by my mom with the help of my Uncle Keith, until Keith’s
life was taken."
Lucas: "Peyton Sawyer is a good friend. Brooke Davis is my girlfriend, at least for now she is."
Lucas:
"I guess I should have said something, anything. I mean for a guy who wants to be a writer, it suddenly seemed like no words
had ever been written, but when someone tells you that they somehow stopped missing you, you're pretty much screwed no matter
what you say. See, but there had to be something, right? Something that no one had ever said in the history of the world,
something that could change this. That wasn't it." [ During his break-up with Brooke ]
Lucas: "My name
is Lucas Scott; I am a senior at Tree Hill High School. I play basketball, at least I used to. I have a girlfriend, at least
I used to. And, I have a best friend. Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe it's a lot like your world.
Maybe it's nothing like it. But, if you look closely you might see someone like you. Someone trying to find their way; someone
trying to find their place; someone trying to find their self. Sometimes it’s easy to feel like you’re the only
one in the world who's struggling, who’s frustrated, or unsatisfied at barely getting by. But, that feeling is a lie
and if you just hold on; just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find the way and
make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes, someone to help us hear the music in the world. To remind us
that it won’t always be this way. That someone is out there, and that someone will find you."
Lucas: "There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. The choices we make in those moments
can define the rest of our days."
Lucas: "And, of course when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around
and go back."
Lucas: "There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads."
Lucas: "But, once
in a while, people push onto something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone. And just beyond the
bravery and courage it takes to let someone in."
Lucas: "Or to give someone a second chance."
Lucas: "Something
beyond the quiet persistence of a dream."
Lucas: "Because, it's only when you’re tested that you truly discover
who you are."
Lucas: "And, it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be."
Lucas: "The person
you want to be does exist; somewhere on the other side of hard work and faith and belief. And, beyond the heartache and fear
of what lies ahead."
Lucas: "You ever
look at a picture of yourself and see a stranger in the background? It makes you wonder how many strangers have pictures of
you, how many moments of other peoples lives have we been in, we're we a part of someone's life when their dreams came true,
or were we there when their dreams died. Did we keep trying to get in, as if we were somehow destined to be there, or did
the shot take us by surprise. Just think, you could be a big part of someone else's life, and not even know it."
Lucas: "There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment, you must choose your direction.
Will you fight to stay on path? Will others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be haunted by your
choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or simply give up."
Lucas: "There
comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment who will you be? Will you let down your defenses, and
find solace in someone unexpected? Will you reach out? Will you face your greatest fear bravely? And move forward with faith.
Or will you succumb to the darkness in your soul?"
Lucas: "Life comes at us from out of the darkness. And at times we can struggle to find the courage to face it."
Lucas:
"When life comes rushing at you from our of the darkness, who will you choose to face it with? Will it be someone you trust?
Will they be wise? And will their love for you help them to guide you to the light? Or will they lose their way in the darkness?
Will they make noble choices? Or will that person be someone untested, someone new? Life comes rushing at you from out of
the darkness, when it does -- is there someone in your life you can count on? Someone who will watch over you when you stumble
and fall? And in that moment, give you the strength to face your fears alone?"
Lucas: "Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are
bigger like when you let down a friend. Some of us escape the pain of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little
time for regret because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past, and
sometimes we bury our regret by promising to change your own ways. But, our biggest regrets are not for the things we did
-- but, for the things we didn't do. Things we didn't say that could've save someone that we care about. Especially when we
can see the dark storm that's headed their way."
Lucas: "Have you ever wondered what marks our timing? If one life can really make an impact on the world? Or if the
choices we make matter? Sometimes in order to move forward, you have to go back. In this case, just a few minutes."
Lucas:
"Have you ever wondered what marks our timing? If one life can really make an impact on the world? Or if the choices we make
matter? I believe they do. And I believe that one man can change many lives... for better, or worse."
Lucas: "Do you ever wonder how long it takes to change your life? What measure of time is enough to be life altering?
Is it four years like high school? One year? An eight week rock tour? Can your life change in a month, or a week, or a single
day? We're always in a hurray to grow up, to go places, to get ahead. And when you're young, one hour can change everything."
Lucas:
"I wish I would have hung out with Glenda before today. Something tells me she could have been a great friend. But it's good
to know there is still a little time left to do that. And I also learned her last name. And I learned, that one hour, can
change everything."
Lucas: "Do you ever wonder
if we make the moments in our lives or if the moments in our lives make us?"
Lucas: "If you could go back and change
one thing about your life, would you? And if you did, would that change make your life better? Or would that change ultimately
break your heart? Or break the heart of another? Or would you choose an entirely different path? Or would you change just
one thing, just one moment? One moment, that you've always wanted back."
Lucas: "I think everybody…knows that Nathan and I got off to a pretty sketchy start. Nathan; mutual hatred sound
about right?"
Lucas: "Yeah. You see, then a funny thing happened; Haley. She showed me that you can find the good in everybody, if
you just give them a chance. The benefit of the doubt. Sometimes, people disappoint you. Sometimes they surprise you. But
you never really get to know them…until you listen for what’s in their hearts and that’s what Haley did
with Nathan. That’s what we should do for them. So for you skeptics out there, prepare to be surprised. So this is to
my…brother and my little sis in-law, and in love."
Brooke: "I thought I knew you. But I guess it’s easier.. to see what we want, than to look for the truth. You
think you know me but you don’t; and that means you don’t know what I can do. You see me as someone who’s
popular... and has all the answers; that’s not true. I may not always know what I’m doing... but I’ll try
make things better. And when I make a mistake... because face it, we all do...I promise I’ll ask for your help. I can’t
do this alone. But if you’ll take a chance on me, we can do great things together. I promise, if you believe in me,
I’ll find the courage to reach for your every dream. John F. Kennedy said; "The courage of life is a magnificent mixture
triumph and tragedy. A man does what he must, in spite of personal consequences... in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures..
and that is the basis of all morality."
Lucas: "Remember tonight, for it is the beginning of always. A promise. Like a reward for persisting through life so
long alone. The belief in each other and the possibility of love. A decision, to ignore or simply rise above the pain of the
past. The covenant, which at once binds two souls and yet severs prior ties. The celebration, of the chance for two will always
be stronger than one. Like a team, braced against the tempest’s of the world. And love... will always be the guiding
force in our lives. For tonight is mere formality.. only an announcement to the world for feelings long held. Promises made
long ago -- in the sacred space of our hearts."
Haley: "Nathan, it's been said that there is one word that will free us from the weight and pain of life. And, that
word is love, and I believe that. It doesn't mean that it hasn't been hard or that it won't be. It just means that I found
a stillness and bravery in myself with you. You make me brave and I will love you until the end of time. This I vow today."
Brooke: "I'm not the most eloquent
speaker, so I thought I would borrow a few words from Shakespeare. 'Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.'
When life gets hard, when things change, true love remains the same. I look at Nathan and Haley and some how I feel safer.
I don't know if I can explain that, but they give me hope. And, I'm afraid say it out loud because maybe if life finds out
it'll try to beat it out of them and that will be a shame. Because, we all can use a little hope sometimes, you know. That
feeling that everything’s going to be okay and that there's going to be someone there to help make sure of that. So,
here's to Nathan and Haley, and here's to hope, and here's to a love that will not alter."
Cooper: "Uh Hi, I'd like your attention for a second. I'd like to propose a toast to my knuckle head of a nephew and
his beautiful bride. As most of you know Nathan and Haley's relationship was, was unexpected. Mostly because Haley is classy
and attractive and Nathan is.. not. But, here's to Nathan and Haley, for proving to us that love is real and genuine and still
attainable for the rest of us. Cheers you two."
Rachel: "Well, well.. I would like to make a toast, to Cooper's toast, about love. But, wait a minute, what could Nathan
and Haley possibly know about love? I mean, they're only seventeen right? Right Cooper? You see, Cooper seems to think a seventeen
year old couldn't possibly know anything about love. Of course, you know, that didn't stop him from having sex with me. Right?
To sex with Cooper!”
Whitey: "You do realize
we have one more game to play? Let me tell ya, this award means an awful lot to me... I might have given a lifetime to this
team, but the players.. the players have given me so much more. You know, basketball was my first love and as most of you
in here realize, you don't forget your first love. My only regret is, I can't share this wonderful moment with the other love
of my life, my late wife Camilla. Camilla was the only person who ever fully understood me, being with her made everything
else seem less important. The moment I met her, I knew that I was looking at my future -- and I knew no person could ever
come between us. I know Camilla would've liked this group of boys, I wanna thank them and I wanna thank all of you for allowing
me to spend a lifetime with my first love. Thank you."
Coach 'Whitey' Durham from 2005: "It's been fifty years, fifty long years since I've done this. Looking back on what
I said all those years ago, all the hopes and dreams I had, I've come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the
way you wanted them to is the measure of a successful life, then some would say that I'm a failure. The important thing is
not to be bitter over life's disappointments. Learn to let go of the past. And recognize that every day won't be sunny, and
when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair remember it's only in the black of night you see the stars. And those
stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, or stumble and fall, cause most of the time the greatest
rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you wish for. Maybe you'll get more
than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the
destination."
Brooke: "So you’re probably looking at this and making fun of my outfit, right? Anyway, here’s all you
really need to know about today; if.. you fat, dumb, sexual, and a guy, you’re OK. If you’re a girl, not so much.
Please tell me that’s changed in the future. Somebody tell me you’ve got love figured out, because I got news
for you; it’s pretty darn messy right now. But I guess it’s always been that way. Wanting to be loved, to find
somebody that makes your heart ache in a good way.. feel understood. So.. if you’re robots, or aliens, or something
and you’re watching this right now and that feeling no longer exists; well... you missed it... and I feel sorry for
you. 'Cause as far as I can tell, that’s what it’s all about. And that’s what I know it should be about."
Jake: "OK, so… I’m a single father… and… until recently, a high school dropout… and…
I’m going on my first date since my daughter was born. Am I a great catch or what? ----- So, I’m seeing
this girl and I think our experience levels are a little different, you know, but... even so, I’m doing something with
her that... I’ve never done before; I’m falling in love."
Tim: "Pretty much been with all the hot girls; freshmen, seniors. Yeah, it’s good times. Currently I’m
dating, um… Brooke Davis. ----- See, what else, um... oh yeah, there’s this new girl, Anna, who’s
into me but.. I’m all 'girl... be patient, you know, 'The Tim' will get to you eventually’."
Lucas: "My best friend, Haley, left town recently. And it’s.. been hard. You know, until this year, it’s-it’s
always been us against the world. We pretty much grew up together and.. now she’s just gone. You know, I.. I understand
the leaving part. Trust me, I just wish she woulda called me; before she left. I wish.. I coulda talked to her about it. I
mean, not to change her mind.. or to tell her what to do, but.. just to say I love you... and I miss you. Just to say goodbye.
----- My brother’s been going through a tough time lately. I wish there was more I could do to help him. I mean,
just getting along is kinda new to us. But I guess that’s how brothers are. Better to each other and worse to each other
than anybody else. I also wish I could make things easier for my mom. I mean, even though it’s been a tough year for
us, I want her to be happy more than anything. But that doesn’t change the fact that I need to get closer to my father
because if I can get closer to him, maybe I can find a way to beat him. Once and for all - set the people that I love free.
I just hope I have the strength to tear him down for good."
Anna: "My name is Anna Taggarro and I'm a junior at Tree Hill High and since it's twenty fifty-five, I guess it’s
OK to say that... I'm bisexual. Although, if I still haven’t found the nerve to come out to my friends and family...by
twenty fifty-five, surprise! ----- My name is Anna Taggarro and I’m a junior at Tree Hill High. And.. I’m
gay.. and straight.. and a Latina and I hate labels! And I hope by the time you see this, those things won’t be an issue.
For now, all you need to know is this; my name is Anna.. and I’m just trying to find my way.. like most kids. I guess
that part is timeless."
Peyton: "OK, first-off, I wanna say happy sixty-seventh birthday to Peyton Sawyer. You were pretty cool back in the
day. Um… and to… Jenny Jagielski, who is… wow, um, like in her fifties now. Uh… your dad… sure
loves you. Plus, he’s a total fox. ----- OK. Well, if you’re young and you’re watching this, uh,
you guys know what you’re up against, especially if you’re a girl, it’s... sex, right, and.. and even fifty
years from now, I’m guessing it’s still a really big deal. You know, it’s awkward… and… threatening…
and thrilling. But, in a way, it’s like sex is the easy part. You know, it’s...giving your heart to somebody;
that’s the scary part. ----- I lost my way, a little bit, this year. But.. lately it’s been better. You
know, um, it’s pretty amazing how.. temptation can be silenced by a ray of hope. But.. when the face to that hope is
a boy’s face, I guess, for me, hope comes with trust issues too."
Nathan: "So you want me to tell you something about myself? I don’t have anything to say. Even if I did, you’d
be wrong to believe me. Trust is a lie. Nobody ever knows anyone."
Coach 'Whitey' Durham from 1955: (Past Teacher: "recreational activity?") "Well.. I like athletics, horsing
around with my pals. I suppose most of the fellas like to chase girls. (Past Teacher: "And does that go for you too?")
Ah, no sir.. I have a steady girl. Some kids find it difficult; having a steady. I don’t. I guess the key is, just
finding someone who feels the same way you do.. I suppose, a fella just wants to fit in; find a good girl, maybe, one day,
do great things. (Past Teacher: "Tell us about that steady girl of yours, Brian.") Well her name is Camilla.. and my
wish is that one day she'll agree to be my wife… and we’ll grow old together. I’d like to have a boy of
my own one day. Maybe lotsa kids. I’d like to try to teach them; right from wrong, good from bad. I’d like to
let them teach me. I think I have something to offer them. Well, I hope so. I guess only time will tell."
"There are two tragedies in life: one is to lose your heart's desire, the other is to gain it." -- George Bernard
Shaw
Brooke: "George Bernard Shaw once wrote; 'There are two tragedies in life: one is to lose your heart's desire, the
other is to gain it.' Clearly, Shaw had his heart broken once or twice."
Nathan: "As far as I’m concerned, Shaw
was a punk! 'Cause you know what? Tragedies happen. What're you gonna do, give up? Quit? No. I realize now that when your
heart breaks, you gotta fight like hell to make sure you’re still alive. 'Cause you are, and that pain you feel: it's
life. The confusion and fear.. that's there to remind you that somewhere out there is something better. And that something
is worth fighting for."
Haley: "This year, I got everything I wanted and everything I wished for.. but, in a way, I
lost even more."
Lucas: "Shaw was right: as we strain to grasp the things we desire, the things we think will make
our lives better: money, popularity, fame... we ignore what truly matters -- the simple things: like friendship, family, love.
The things we probably already had."
Mouth: "So, Mr. Shaw thinks that getting your hearts desire is a tragedy? I say
he’s wrong. I mean, clearly, Shaw never kissed Erica Marsh."
Peyton: "Yeah, losing your heart’s desire is tragic. But gaining your heart’s desire... It’s
all you can hope for. This year, I wished for love. To immerse myself in someone else and to wake a heart long afraid
to feel. My wish was granted. And if having that is tragic… then give me tragedy. Because, I wouldn’t give
it back for the world."
Lucas: "You ever have something that you knew that you were better at than.. almost anybody else? " Peyton: "Sex.
(pauses while Lucas stares at her) Joke. "
Nathan: "Do you like this guy?" Peyton: "You mean more than my boyfriend that I'm trying to make out with right
now?" Nathan: "Well put some ice on it."
Peyton: "No practice today?" (Lucas doesn't answer and hands Peyton her sketch book and her car keys.) Peyton: "What are you, stalking me?" Lucas: "I thought someone should see them." Peyton: "Well it's none of your
business." Lucas: "You know what? You're right. It’s none of my business. I wouldn't know anything about it." Peyton:
"I know, you don't." Lucas: "Look, just tell me why you didn't submit them. You're stuff is good." Peyton: "Not good
enough." Lucas: "Look, Peyton, why not?" Peyton: "I want to draw something that means something to someone! You know,
I want to draw blind faith, or a fading summer, or just a moment of clarity. It's like when you go and see a really great
band for the first time and nobody is saying it but everybody is thinking it. We have something to believe in again." (Pause.)
"I want to draw that feeling... but I can't. And if I can't be great at it, then I don't want to ruin it. It's too important
to me." Lucas: "Yeah, me, too." (Pause.) (Peyton gets
in her car.) Lucas: "What about your sketch book?" Peyton: "What about them? They don't mean anything to anybody,
do they?"
Nathan: "Don't say I never gave you anything."
Haley: "I'm really fine." Nathan: "Little high on yourself aren't you? Going around saying you're all fine?"
Peyton:
"He really slammed you. Lucas: "I don't care what he thinks. Peyton: "Neither do I. Lucas: "Oh yeah? Then why are
you drinking?
Lucas: "So I'm confused. You want to be anonymous and you let the world watch you on a web cam." Peyton:
"The world isn't watching me... but I guess you are." Lucas: "Okay, the point is.... you want to express yourself but you
don't want people to know it's you." Peyton: "I guess I'm just a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside a bitch." Lucas:
"Or maybe just a tortured artist." Peyton: "Look, I don't need you defending me and my work. I don't need you analyzing
it or interpreting me either. And in fact, I'm pretty sure I don’t need you at all." Lucas: "Pretty sure?"
Brooke:
"So, you my date tonight, Luke?" Lucas: "You know, Brooke, you don't have to act like this." Brooke: "I know that. But
you're the first guy to ever say it. You do your thing and, um, try to resist. It's actually kind of cute."
Nathan: "Well you know me and Peyton broke up". Haley: "Peyton and I." Nathan: "What she broke up with you too?"
Brooke:
"Hey cutie! I saw your picture in the paper. Personally, I didn't think it did you justice." Lucas: "No?" Brooke: "No.
Far too much clothing."
Karen: "What does this dress say to you?" Lucas: "Uh.. beware of crazy ladies who talk to dresses?" Karen: "No
come on. Really.. I need you help, single and successful or married to her work?"
Peyton: "Nice Arms." Lucas: "Nice
legs."
Nathan: "You couldn't be into lobster?" Haley: "Dude, macaroni and cheese is food of the gods". Nathan: "Yeah,
if the gods are five year olds."
Haley: "We are doing equations on the train." Nathan: "Well it's not exactly Risky Business but there's always the
ride back."
Nathan (to Haley): "Was that your jump shot? Cause if that was your jump shot, I can’t date you anymore."
Brooke
(to Lucas): "People that are meant to be together always find their way in the end."
Brooke: "Okay, guy in need of
a clue. Here's one. Women send signals, and that was a brush off. Before you dip into your shallow pool of wit, let me paint
us a picture and save us both the trouble. Here's your evening. You are going to slink back off to your buddies, laugh this
off, get wasted, go home, and make nice with yourself. But you won't be thinking of me, because even your fantasy of me isn't
interested in you."
Haley: "You are totally saving my life. Thank you. I've got to get a cable modem." Nathan: "It's cool. I’ve
got to run to practice, anyway. Then I'm going to pick up an extra shift at the mall, try to pay for this cable modem. And
after that, I'm working out with Lucas." Haley: "Well who are you and what have you done with my real boyfriend?"
Haley: "Nathan, you're soaked. What are you doing?" Nathan: I just went for a run to clear my
head, I guess this is where I ended up. Look, Haley, the picture of Peyton didn’t mean anything, okay?" Haley: "It
did to me. Clearly you still have feelings for her." Nathan: I saved that picture back when we were still dating. The other
ones too, you can go back and look. Her web cam hasn't even been in her closet for months." Haley: "Why didn't you tell
me that last week?" Nathan: "Because, I should have deleted those images a long time ago. I just felt bad because I didn't
do it. Besides, Haley, I don't want Peyton. I want you." Haley: "Is that it?" Nathan: "You know, my pride says yeah,
that's it. Just walk away and let Haley deal with the fact that she's clearly threatened by a sexual relationship. But my
heart says, just forget about your pride you idiot. You love this girl. And even if you’re going to catch pneumonia,
your ass is going to stand out here in the rain till you convince her to forgive you. So come on, Hales, just meet me half
way here?" Haley: "Why should I?" Nathan: "Because I’m sorry. Because I love you. And Because you're looking really
hot standing out here in the rain, and I’m thinking, I have to kiss you." Haley: "Well, if you have to." (they
kiss)
Haley: "Hi. I had the strangest dream; I dreamt we actually got married yesterday." Nathan: "That’s weird…I
had the same dream."
Nathan: "It's pretty wild huh?" Haley: "Yeah. How do you feel?" Nathan: "I was just watching
you sleep, thinking; let’s always be like this."
Peyton: "What is that?" Brooke: "This, Missy blond girl, is the Brooke Davis version of 'Spin the Bottle'. Only
now, it's 'Spin the Body'. Watch. OK, you two have to make out. And last but not least; we have 'Five Minutes in the Elevator'." Lucas:
"Isn't it 'Five Minutes in the Closet'?" Brooke: "Yeah, if you're in junior high. But the great part about this is; you
know how everybody has their elevator list?" Skills: "What?" Brooke: "Your elevator list! Come on! The list of people
you're allowed to have sex with if you're ever stuck in an elevator with them." Skills: "Halle Berry." Fergie: "Beyoncé." Peyton:
"Jack Black." Mouth: "Brooke Davis."
Haley: "Alright. I'm off. All the important numbers are by the phone.. police, fire, pimps." Nathan: "Thanks for
worrying about us." Haley: "I'm not worried about you. Have your fun, just remember, you’re married now. "
Brooke:
"A girl can do anything she puts her mouth to."
Haley: "Hi, nice to meet you." Felix: "Girl, you are totally fine." Haley: "Dude I'm totally married." Felix:
"Really? Who's the father?" Nathan: "Little close aren't you?" Felix: "Oh, guess it's you."
Nathan: "Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Tree Hill resident. We're selling these delicious cookies to raise money for 'Lady
Leprechauns.' An organization that empowers us girls to be strong, beautiful, independent women of tomorrow."
Haley:
"I told you; I got dressed, I threw up at my parent's house, brushed, flossed and went to the beach." Peyton: "Ok, hard
image to forget. Uh, but, I meant more like, uh, I don't know; how your heart got there. Marriage is big. I don't know how
you trust somebody for your whole life. I can't even date somebody with that escape hatch." Haley: "I don't know if it
was so much about trusting Nathan, which I do, it was more about trusting myself. "
Brooke: "It's another mechanic stripper! ......No.. just Lucas."
Felix (singing): "Oooh the water is
hot! And so is Feeelix!"
Chris: "Looking for your wife?" Nathan: "You're funny. You're also done messing with Haley." Chris: "We're
just rehearsing, man." Nathan: "No, you were rehearsing. That's over now." Chris: "Why?.. Can’t you trust
her? I mean, isn't that what this is about? You love her.. you married her.. but can you trust her? 'Cause if you can, you
got nothing to worry about right? Come on, man, I don't have a problem with you." Nathan: "You see, you do have
a problem with me; a big problem! You could smile and act cool if you want to but the fact is, man: I used to destroy
guys like you. Daily. It'd be a shame if something happened to this hand; you couldn't play that little guitar anymore
huh? Just like it'd be a shame if you were taking advantage of Haley." Nathan: "Don't cry rock star.. ruin your make-up."
Peyton:
"Ok Mr. Turner. Have you ever heard of Victor Jara? No?! He was this musician and he fought in justice with is songs, and
when they broke his hands and when they toned him he just sang even louder." Mr. Turner: "Ok Peyton. Oppression is not
exactly a mystery to me ok?! I feel your pain." Peyton: "No you don't. I'm sorry but you don't know anything about my pain." Mr.
Turner: "May be so. But there are counselors you can talk to, literature you can read." Peyton: "Ok, I'm not gay Mr. Turner.
But you know, if I was, I wouldn't let other people tear me down because of it. And I'm sure I wouldn't be looking for my
answers in one of your pamphlets." Mr. Turner: "The policy is clear Peyton. Remove the shirt or be suspended." Peyton:
"Fine... (takes off the shirt that reads 'DYKE') Can you hear my song now, Mr. Turner?"
Felix: "Brooke, talk
to me. Just tell me how you feel. I know it's scary And I know you had a hard time with Lucas. But just tell me if you can
show me your heart. Because if you do, I'll guard it with my life. Just say ok." Brooke: "Ok.”
Deb: "I miss Nathan." Karen: "I miss Keith." Peyton: "I miss Jake." Brooke: "I don't really
miss Felix, at all. Or my parents that much. But I miss my money."
Lucas: "Went to the airport this morning to pick up my mom and poof, there was Brooke." Peyton: "Poof?" Lucas:
"Poof."
Brooke: "I leave for a couple months, crazy mom starts showing up and there's all these things you don't know."
Nathan:
"I deleted you." Haley: "Well... Then you deleted this: Um... I was being childish when I walked away from you for the
tour. You gave me an ultimatum the night that I left and, uh, I fought back for all the wrong reasons. I was being stubborn...
and I can't take that back, I wish that I could. Did I want to go? Yeah. I loved it, I loved every night of it. But I want
you to know something Nathan. There was never a night where I loved it more than I loved you."
Mouth: "I felt larger
than life when I was with Erica. (Pause) I’d give anything to have that back." Brooke: "You and Erica broke up?!" Mouth:
"Yeah." Brooke: "Why, what happened?" Mouth: "She got popular."
Lucas (to Peyton): "It's always going
to be there isn't it, you and me."
Tony Battle: "Alright... Hey yo, Nate. You can't all get it back at once, man. Take
it slow. Give it some time. Pretty soon you'll be back better than ever."
Brooke: "You and Haley fighting?" Peyton:
"That depends on which Haley we’re talking about, Haley Scott; the nice girl that played TRIC, or Haley James; the not
so much of a wife that left town and never called - because her, I have a problem with." Brooke: "Do you ever think maybe
it just got to be too much for her? Like, leaving the whole Chris thing out of it, maybe she just got scared of needing somebody
too much." Peyton: "Needing them so much she just… abandoned them?" Brooke: "OK, you can hate me for saying this,
but maybe your problem isn't so much with Haley as it is with Ellie; your returning birth mother." Peyton: "No, Brooke,
my problem is with anybody who just… vanishes and then waltzes back in and expects to be instantly forgiven and your
problem is you're not gonna have anybody to help you paint this place if you don't stop telling me what my problem is."
Brooke:
"How much for a broken heart and a side of regret?"
Lucas: "So, the whole summer and I still can't get used to that
hair of yours." Peyton: "What?! You did yours last spring and mine actually looks good."
Priest: "May the grace
of God be with you..." Dan: "Yea, ok... I got to tell you padre this isn't exactly my home court you know. I never had
much use for religion. I guess what you call kindness I call weakness, but no man is bullet proof, I know that. after all,
they crucified your boy didn't they?" Priest: "What troubles you my son?" Dan: "What troubles me is how I've made mistakes.
How I lay awake at night keeping company with regret, volubility. I've not been the man I've intended to be. That troubles
me." Priest: "And you've come seeking a solution?" Dan: "Yea, I suppose I have. Let me ask you something. Is it possible
to be forgiven for a sin for lacks to be committed?" Priest: "I'm afraid I don't understand." Dan: "It's simple really...
Three months ago someone tried to kill me. They drugged me and left me for dead. I pretended not to remember, but in fact,
every night since I've tried to piece it together. And when I find out who did this to me, and I will find out soon, the sins
I commit then could turn this place to rubble!"
Karen: (referring to Dan and Deb's divorce) "How's that going, by the way?" Dan: "Why, you ready for round
two?" Karen: (makes a face and coughs a little) "Sorry, I just.. threw up a little in my mouth."
Peyton:
"I see that look again. Lucas: "What look? I don't have a look. Peyton: "Dude, you've got a tell the size of JLO's ass.
Lucas:
"Give me a minute." (to Haley) Lucas: "What's going on guys?" Lifeguards: "What's up?" Lucas: "You got a
second?" Brooke: "Sure. What's up?" Lucas: "I'm the guy for you. I know we're just part time and that's cool, do your
thing have your fun. Buy one of these nights your going to realize it... I'm the guy for you Brooke Davis. You'll see."
Haley: "I'm usually one of those people who likes the fist day of school. You know, new pens; new book; new backpack." Brooke:
"A nerd." Haley: "Exactly!"
Brooke: "You know, sometimes people play hard-to-get because they need to know the other
person's feelings are real."
Karen: "Haley? Are you Okay?" Haley: "Yeah, if okay's, like, heels that are killing me and underwear that's digging
into my ribcage and I'm about five minutes from going home and binging on cookie dough."
Dan: "Where is all my stuff,
Deb?" Deb: "I gave it away." Dan: "You what?!" Deb: "I had to. It was all wet and smelly." Dan: "And how did that
happen?" Deb: "The sprinklers came on by accident after I tossed everything out the window. That part was on purpose."
Rachel: "I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we pass the audition." (FYI:
She was quoting John Lennon.)
Haley: "I know, I get it. I just I think that if I join the cheerleading squad, Nathan
would see it as some, like, pathetic attempt to get close to him." Brooke: "That's funny. It seems to me like worrying
about what Nathan thinks is pathetic is actually pretty pathetic. Forget about Nathan. Why don't you do what you want for
once?" Haley: "OK, I will...no thanks!"
Brooke: "One spot on the team and there's no one to fill it? Those like
dance auditions are for crap, the musical."
Peyton: (referring to Lucas and Nathan fighting) "What happened?" Brooke:
Who knows? (Looks at Rachel.) "Maybe someone was being a full on diva skank!" Rachel: "You'd know. (Brooke slaps
her.) You just bought yourself a nose job."
Brooke: "Naked in the backseat? That's so last year it's two
years ago."
Brooke: "I wanted you to fight for me, I wanted you to say there is no one else that you could ever
be with, and that you'd rather be alone than without me." Lucas: "How was I supposed to know that?" Brooke: "You just
are."
Lucas: If I tell Whitey I have a heart condition, I'm off the team. Haley: Yeah, and if you don't tell Whitey
about your heart condition, you're off the planet.
Haley: "Never expected the cheerleading squad to have more drama than the drama club."
Brooke: "Bevin, what
the hell was going through your size two brain?!" Bevin: "You said we could trade." Brooke: "Why is she wearing my necklace?" Bevin:
"Because that was part of the trade." Brooke: "Okay, why would you trade your third pick and my necklace, for Rachel's
fifth pick?" Bevin: "Duh! Brooke, five is more than three. Oh, it made total sense when Rachel explained it." Brooke:
"Right"
Tim: "The boy draft. We know all you girls got together and drafted us to be your little love-dolls, so… we just
wanna know the results." Brooke: "It was a fantasy draft, Dim. You know, like the fantasies you have about Nathan –
not real."
Haley: "OK. You know the moment that I left the tour?...We were playing this club in Illinois... and Chris
decides to do a cover of an eighties song called, um, 'Missing You'... and everybody starts singing along, the crowds loving
it and they turn the house lights up pause and I could see every face out there... and I... fell apart. On stage, in front
of three thousand people; I lost it. I couldn't sing, I couldn't hear the music. Nothing. Because... that was the moment that
I knew... that none of it could ever be enough without you. All of the celebrity and all of the applause and all the pretty
melodies... couldn't fill your void in my heart. So... yeah, I guess you're right; it’s not the life I would've had...
'cuz ever since I met you, it has been so much more."
Lucas (to Rachel): You know if I ever met the devil, I
figured she be hot and holding a basketball.
Lucas (quotes Blaise Pascal): "The heart has reasons that reason
cannot know."
Nathan (to Lucas): "Your game sucks. Fix it." Lucas (to Nathan): "Your marriage sucks. Fix it."
Nathan:
"It's hard to get back into the ring, especially with the one who knocked you out in the first place."
Haley: "Oh, where did we go so wrong?" Brooke: "Well, I slept with Chris Keller and you went on tour with him."
Haley:
"When did we start letting boys dictate our happiness?" Brooke: "I was 9."
Nathan:
"Dude we gotta jump!" Chris: "No way man, Chris Keller can't swim!"
Nathan: "You call this breaking even?! You just
got my attacked by a munchkin and a transvestite." Chris: "Whoa! You think Emmanuelle is a dude?" Nathan: "E-MAN-uelle
has an 'Adam's Apple!'" Chris: "Oops."
Chris: "Quit hittin' me!" Nathan: "Quit kissin' my wife!" Chris: "I
will, once you start kissin' her."
Peyton (to Peyngel): "I didn't know my subconscious could be
such a bitch." Peyngel: "No, no. We're a bitch. Try to keep up, okay?"
Nathan: "Where you going?" Chris: "Chris
Keller's work here is done."
Brooke: "There are 82 letters in here and they're all addressed to you. I wrote them all
this summer, one a day but I never sent them because I was afraid. I was afraid of getting my heart broken again, like before,
because you hurt me so bad. And I was afraid to be vulnerable and I was afraid of you and the way that you make me feel. And
I know that doesn't matter now after what I did but I just thought that you should know... this is how I spent my summer Luke,
wanting you. I was just too scared to admit it." Lucas: "Brooke! What you did with Chris... it's okay." Brooke: "It's
not. It can't be. Its too much to forgive." Lucas: "Well that's too bad because I forgive you." Brooke: "You can't.." Lucas:
"I just did, so you're gonna just have to deal with it. I'm the guy for you Brooke Davis and I know I hurt you the last time
we were together but I..." Brooke: "I love you." Lucas: "I love you too... pretty girl."
Haley: "Mr. Scott, can you please leave? You're really creeping me out." Dan: "You know, at least Peyton was pleasant
in the morning."
Brooke: "Mouth, you didn't exactly break any speed records driving over here, you know." Mouth:
"You called me 17 minutes ago and I drive a bicycle, Brooke."
Brooke: "Here kids you can take these CDs... thanks for
all your help." Haley: "That was a really nice thing to do Brooke... with my CDs."
Brooke (to Nathan): "What are you doing?" Nathan: "Oh, I was just, looking for bandaids." Brooke: "Well
buddy, you found my birth control patches. Those fix a whole 'nother problem. Next cabinet."
Nathan: "Haley, what if
something happened? That would have changed our lives forever!" Haley: "Like what, marriage?!" Brooke: "Ooh, she's good."
Haley:
"And if you're so worried, then why didn't you stop us? It's just as much your responsibility as it is mine." Nathan: "You're
right. It is my responsibility, let me see the pills." Haley: "I can not believe you still don't believe me. I can't believe
it. Here take them. I don't need them anymore." Nathan: "Haley.." Haley: "Your future as a basketball player is totally
secure. Your future as my husband, not so much."
Lucas (to Karen): "...if you're always looking for reasons
not to be with somebody, well you'll always find them, and I guess at some point you should let go and give your heart what
it deserves."
Dan: "Are you ready to confess?" Keith: "Okay, all right. I confess; I bought a bottle of liquor. I was, uh.. I
was just so thirsty. I'm sorry, Danny. Can you forgive me?"
Dan: "You son of a bitch!" Keith: "Okay, there's
no need to bring mom into this Danny."
Keith: "I asked your mom out on a date. Hope that's okay with you." Lucas:
"I think it's great. What'd she say?" Keith: "Funny. I guess you had to ask the question I mean my track record with your
mom is about as bad as the Raven's." Lucas: "Ah." Keith: "So do me a favor, win tomorrow night. I was gonna say score
but I didn't think that was appropriate." Lucas: "Ugh."
Guidance Counselor: "So, you're interested in fashion design." Brooke:
"Yes, but I'm interested in a lot of things." Guidance Counselor: "Such as?" Brooke: "I'm student council president,
captain of the cheerleaders, founder of 'DW not I' and girlfriend of Raven's star shooting guard, Lucas Scott."
Brooke:
"The truth is, I don't really like to think about college 'cause that means high school's over. After graduation everyone
will probably go play basketball, or sing, or start record labels. And I'll have to start all over - alone."
Haley (to Nathan): "You don't want me too...right. 'Cause I forgot, you're the guy that likes to rip the rug
out from beneath me just when I feel like we're getting some sort of stable ground. I mean you told me you loved me after
the basketball game and silly me, I just thought that that feeling would last longer than oh, I don't know,
one night! I mean you freak out after we have sex in God knows how long, and by the way I know EXACTLY how long it was, and
frankly I'm still pissed off at you about that whole birth control thing."
Ellie: "Every song has a CODA, a final movement.
Whether it fades out or crashes away. Every song ends. Is that any reason not to enjoy the music? The truth is, there is nothing
to be afraid of. It's just life."
(Nathan stares at Haley.) Haley: "Yes, I had another bowl, I was hungry!"
Rachel:
"Look umm.. let me help you. Give you the benefit of my expertise. I can teach you how to be come one of the guys the elite
girls drooled over." Mouth: "By being mean to them." Rachel: "Sometimes." Mouth: "But I'm not that guy Rachel, and
I don't want to be. So maybe the elite girls just aren't for me then. But one of these day I'm gonna meet a girl who really
loves me and maybe she won't be what you called hot but I'll think she's beautiful...and I'll tell her so. I won't be mean
to her 'cause I won't have to play game with her. I'll just be the guy that she can always count on.. and that'll be enough...and
she'll be elite to me."
Lucas: "If you need me to tell you why I love you.. I will, 'cause I can go on all night."
Nathan:
"Haley, I told you the tour was a very big part of your life. You deserve to have something to remember it by besides all
the bad memories." Haley: "Thank you."
Peyton: "Say 'Hi' to my mom, mom."
Brooke (to Haley): "We on schedule, navigation girl?"
Peyton: "You never worked so hard for anything
in your life, except your fake ID!"
Nathan: "Yeah, very funny Lucas. Your ass is still sleeping on the floor." Haley:
"Surprise. I switched rooms with Lucas, I don't have to sleep on the floor do I?" Nathan: "How'd you manage to switch rooms?" Haley:
"Well believe it or not Bevin "mastermind" Maskey arranged the whole thing." Nathan: "Come here. You have any room in there
for me?" Haley: "I thought you'd never ask."
Haley: "What'd you say to Hooter girl when she made her topless debut?" Lucas: "I told her she looked beautiful."
Nathan:
"Listen, about the time capsule.." Haley: "Ah, you looked beautiful."
Nathan: "Do you ever think we can have a function
in this town that doesn't end up in a brawl?" Lucas: "Why? Getting a little too 'Outsiders' for you?" Nathan: "I never
saw it." Lucas: "Well, you would have been one of the bad guys."
Brooke: "Ahem" Peyton: "Hey, Brooke" Brooke:
"Don't 'hey, Brooke' me. What is up with you and Hottie McHottie?" Peyton: "Who? McWhat?" Brooke: "Don't even try it.
Please, the Fall Out Boy? I can spot him hitting - on - you from a mile away, and you were definitely returning fire." Peyton:
"We talked for like 10 seconds." Brooke: "So you move fast. You should ask him to check you for lumps." Peyton: "Okay,
not funny." Brooke: "What? he's a musician. He's got to have good hands."
Rachel: "Everybody can't be popular because
if they were, no one would be popular."
Rachel: "That's the scary truth. We're all alone." Mouth: "Not if we have
friends."
Jimmy Edwards: "Everyday that I have to come to this school, is another day I don't have to come back."
Haley:
"Always?..." Nathan: "and Forever."
Jimmy: "What's my name?" Abby Brown: "Jim." Jimmy: "My full name!" Abby:
"I don't know!" Rachel: "You're the guy from the time capsule." Haley: "Jimmy Edwards. Jimmy Edwards. You're a good
guy, and you are better than this."
(Lucas sneaks behind the
bookshelf) Peyton: "Ahhh.." Lucas: "Peyton! Hey, it's
okay." Peyton: "Ow, my leg! I got cut by some glass. Lucas, I lost Brooke, I'm sorry!" Lucas: "She's fine, she's fine.
Okay you're not. Um, we gotta get you somewhere safe- c'mon!" Peyton: "No, I can't walk! I tried!" Lucas: "Ok...ok." Peyton:
"No! Don't leave me please!" Lucas: "No, no, no! Hey, I'm gonna go block the entrance, alright? We'll...we'll just hide,
alright? We'll wait this out, ok? Listen to me, ok? I'm not leaving you, Peyton. I won't. Okay?"
Peyton: "Ow!" Lucas:
"You're bleeding pretty good, we're gonna have to put some pressure on it." Peyton: "Luke, it was your friend. The one
from the time capsule. He had the gun. But he didn't look evil, or angry- he just looked scared."
Peyton: "We had a
snow day. Sixth grade, do you remember? It was like this whole other world just came in overnight and took ours away. Brooke,
she came over and we made a snow fort... with a tunnel. And we stayed in there all day. It seemed so safe, like everything
was okay. Like everything our world was about to become, maybe we could just stop it and stay little kids for one more day.
But then it got cold, kinda like now. They're gonna come now. All of them. The reporters and the psychologists and the analysts.
And the so-called experts. And they're gonna try and make sense of this. But they're not gonna be able to. And even if we
do make it out of here, we're always gonna carry it with us. Its never gonna be the same."
Peyton: "You're always
saving me." Lucas: "Somebody's got to." Peyton: "If I say, 'I love you,' right now will you hold it against me? Cause
I've lost a lot of blood."
Mouth: "It wasn't supposed to be this way. The artists, and the scientists, and the poets...none
of them fit in at seventeen. You're supposed to get past it. Adults, they see kids killing kids and they know its a tragedy
because they used to be those kids. The bullies and the beaten and the loners. You're supposed to get past it. You're supposed
to live long enough to take it back. Just take it all back."
Abby: "What's wrong with you? He's just a kid. We're all
just kids and we just have this life and the things you say and do, we feel that. How can you have so much hate in your heart?
How can you act like it doesn't matter? It does matter. What happened to us? We're just kids. We can't be like this. It's
not possible."
Jimmy: "I wanted them to leave me alone. I just.. I wanted them to like me." Keith: "I understand
son, it's what we all want. It's what any of us wants." Jimmy: "I'm not here .. I'm not here!" Keith: "It will be better
son." Jimmy: "But it hurts it always hurts." Keith: "I know."
Rachel: "Nobody has all the answers, but we all have our why's. Like, why did this happen? Why didn't we see it coming?
And why do people 'watch American Idol?'"
Lucas: "Do you think there's a heaven Skills?" Skills: "Do I think there's
a heaven?" Lucas: "Ya, you know pearly gates, angels.." Skills: "I dunno about all that, maybe some chrome gates and
some freaky angels. Naw, but I do think there's somethin' else out there, and I do think whatever we do in this world
matters in the next." Lucas: "You know before you came in I was thinking about Edwards, and how we could take Keith's
life." Skills: "Look he wasn't right dawg, Jimmy was sick." Lucas: "So if that's true, is heaven the kind of place that'll
hold that against someone? 'Cause if not Jimmy's a victim and right now, in your world beyond this one, Jimmy and Keith
are in the same place, and I can't figure out what kind of place that would be." Skills: "It's a place you and I wouldn't
understand." Lucas: "Or a place that doesn't exist."
Rachel: "You have to let it go Mouth. It's not your fault." Mouth:
"I wasn't thinking that." Rachel: "Yes you were. You have this ridiculous notion that because you were friends once
you could've saved him." Mouth: "What's so ridiculous about that?" Rachel: "Because you couldn't have." Mouth: "I
was his best friend Rachel." Rachel: "How many times did the guy call you in the last year? C'mon look around. Everybody's
here tonight, the geeks, stoners, jocks, maybe a few friends who forgot to stay in touch. That's how it's gonna change." Mouth:
"But everyone's still divided. We stick to these rigid circles of friends based on sports we play or hobbies we like or
how attractive or unattractive we are. When's that gonna change?" Rachel: "Honestly? Probably never. Look that's human
nature, people stick to their own kind. If you want it to change, you change it. I'll help you." Mouth: "How?" Rachel:
"Dance with me!"
Lucas: "Coach..." Whitey: "I know you want some answers, but what is the right answer? Because
there is no answer, its just life."
Brooke: "We're all gonna get our hope back Luke. It's just gonna take some of us longer than others, you know?"
Peyton
(quotes a Fall Out Boy song to Pete): "My pen is the barrel of a gun. Remind me which side you should be on."
Lucas: "Coach, basketball has always been a huge part of who I am, and I've been thinking a lot about it; but, unless
somebody can tell me why this game matters right now, I don’t think I can play." Whitey: "You know, every time you
take this court we come in under that old faded banner up there says, 'Home of the Monarchs.' Anyone know who the Monarchs
were?" Ravens player: "The Monarchs were the best basketball team in the state, back in the fifties." Whitey: "Yea,
some people say they were. But, they were never in the record books because the Monarchs were an all black team. Back in those
days, when I was your age, blacks and whites weren't allowed to play this game together. I was on the best team in the state,
but we all knew there was another one, the Monarchs. One night both teams snuck in here, locked the doors, and squared off.
They were good, oh they were damn good. We played four games. They got their shots, we got ours. Then, something magical happened.
Something, that none of us could have anticipated. Something that had never happened in this state before. We decided to mix
the teams. Their captain and our captain started picking players. As it turned out I was the next to the last one picked.
And, their captain looked me in the eye and said 'I'll take Whitey.’' And, it stuck, that's how I got my nickname. That
night changed all our lives. We were no longer black players or white players, we were just players. We shut out the world
and played, together. We played a game that we loved and that night, that game changed everything. I haven't been the same
sense. You want me to tell you that this game matters. I promise you son, it does matter. Let the game heal you Lucas. Come
back to us son."
Cooper: "I knew I'd find you here. You know when I do most of my thinking I usually find myself in
an empty race track. I figure the silence clears my head." Lucas: "Me too, so when does the circuit start back up?" Cooper:
"For the drivers three weeks, for me it doesn't... I lost my ride." Lucas: "What happened?” Cooper: "Well, for
one thing I let my nephew crash a racecar into a wall. Then things got a little dark from there. You know, when they told
me I couldn't drive, I thought my life was over. Racing was all that I had and was who I was. Then the next day, the sun came
up and the world kept turning and I was gonna to be okay. It took me a while, but I finally realized that even if I never
get to race again, I know I can be happy. Nathan told me about the game." Lucas: "I'll get it back." Cooper: "I hope
you do. But, if for some reason you don't, it'll be okay. It's not what you do in life that matters Luke, it's about who you
are."
Whitey: "Karen I know what you're going through. I lost the love of my life too.” Karen: "Yea, you had
Camilla for a lifetime; I had Keith for a few weeks.” Whitey: "Whose fault was that?” (Karen slaps him)
"I'm glad to see you’re still in there. Now, you listen to me. I said that because I know the guilt that you're caring
around. And you’re wrong to feel it. Feeling guilty is not gonna bring Keith back." Karen: "Don't I have a right
to feel bad?” Whitey: "You know Lucas was so broken up he couldn't play the last game? No, I didn't think so. Look
Karen, you gave Keith the thing that he loved most in all the world, Lucas. He was never happier than when he was talking
about you and that boy. You gave him a son for a lifetime and you let him matter to Lucas. I know how that feels. Karen, you
couldn’t have given him much more. Let the guilt fall away, let it go.”
Nathan: "Father, can I ask you
a question? When you decided you wanted to be a priest how did you know it was the right thing to do?” Priest: "I
had a devout believe in God.” Nathan: "Can you prove that to us, with some sort of a test I mean?” Priest:
"Of course not." Nathan: "Just like you can't prove love with a test. I mean, this is just a score on a sheet of paper.
Sure, Haley and I have our differences, but this test doesn't show how hard we’ve worked to keep this relationship together,
or that I can’t stand it when we're apart, or that every time I look at her I know that I'm gonna be with her for the
rest of my life. We love each other father, no test is going to show that.”
Deb (to Lucas): "You know,
when Nathan wrecked that car, I didn't speak to Cooper for months. I mean, I knew it wasn't really his fault, but somehow
I blamed him anyway. Losing your child is every mother's biggest fear; nothing even comes close. For your mom to get better
she's really gonna have to lean on you Lucas. So, whatever you do, just make sure to take care of yourself. You have to, for
your mother's sake."
Larry (to Peyton): "Just promise me one thing, promise me that when you pick the boy you're
really going to be with, that he'll be someone who respects you and treats you well. And, it's someone who makes your heart
race and that he's someone you love because of what he is, not what he does. Because, that's how I felt about your mother,
and that’s how I want you to feel one day. Use your head and follow your heart."
Nathan (to Haley): "You sure you don't wanna sleep with me until the ceremony? I know I look pretty sexy right
now."
Haley (to Nathan): "Put a t-shirt
on, you're too sexy!"
Peyton (to Jake): "Every song ends, but is that any reason not to enjoy the music?"
Peyton (to Jake):
"I spent a lot of time being miserable, Jake. It's like misery is an old friend. And it tricks you sometimes into thinking
that it's just always gonna be there and that you can't be happy. But you can, you can walk away from pain. And I think being
in love's the best way to do it."
Brooke (to Mouth): "Welcome to the dark side my friend, deception for lunch,
payback for dinner, and pie for breakfast."
Rachel: "You know you still want me Cooper. You know it, I know it."
Peyton: "I love you Jake, I do, and you know that I love Jenny; so maybe that’s enough." Jake: "I think that
only in fairy tales that’s enough Peyton." Peyton: "You know, someone told me once that there's nothing wrong with
fairy tales, because everybody lives happily ever after." Jake: "Okay, listen to me, you can't just fly into Savannah and
then get into my head all over again, tell me you want to stay and then ask me to marry you." Peyton: "Well, why not?" Jake:
"Because, I might just say yes."
Karen: "You know, this trip wasn't just about finding you a school. It was about finding
a way back." Lucas: "To what?" Karen: "To a place where it's okay to dream again. You know, you walked away from basketball
so that you could live a long life. What are you gonna do with that life. What's your next dream Lucas?" Lucas: "Literature,
you asked me about my future; if I could go to any college it would be to UNC to study literature." Karen: "My son, the
next great American author." Lucas: "I don't know about that ma." Karen: "And, UNC would be your dream school?" Lucas:
"Yea, sure, I mean if we had the money." Karen: "Okay, listen to me. Before we left the lawyer who drew up the adoption
papers called. He told me that ever since you were born Keith has been saving a fund for you for college. I didn't know about
it myself. He dreamed your dream with you Lucas. And, if this is something that you really want then you have the grades,
then you can have it. Because, Keith left it for you." Lucas: "God, I miss him so much." Karen: "He's always with you,
always. You make him proud." Lucas: "I will."
Brooke's intro to Naley Re-enactment "Once upon a time in a kingdom far, far away a girl and a boy fell in love. And
then another girl, supposedly a friend, secretly taped how they fell in love and decided use it against them. So tonight I
give you an authentic and very unauthorized reenactment of Nathan and Haley, a fairy tale."
"Before we end the night
I just want to say a few words about Nathan and Haley. I told them once, not too long ago to be happy because someday
they'd make us all believe in true love. And, they do. In a few days they’re going to renew that love for
all of us to see. But, in a way we see it every day. The only difference is that Haley will look fabulous in her
dress by Clothes over Bros; which is kind of odd seeing as how she's marrying a bro. But, that's not the point, sorry. One
rainy day Nathan Scott proposed to Haley James and the rest is a fairy tale..."
Naley Reenactment — "The Make
Up" [Lucas as Nathan & Brooke as Haley] Lucas: "I decided to go for a run and I ended up here, boy is it raining
out." Brooke: "I'm still mad at you Nathan Scott." Lucas: "Haley please listen to me, I know I'm a porn freak." Brooke:
"Nathan, it's okay, I like my porn too. And, I Haley myself from time to time but I still need to know that you love
me." Lucas: "Someday I'm gonna marry you Haley James, someday."
Haley (to Dan): "Okay, so, so the last time
I stood in a doorway giving someone the benefit of the doubt when my instincts were screaming at me not to it was for Nathan
and this time, well it's still for Nathan. We would like you to come to the wedding. But God help you if you don't
change."
EPISODE #322 · THE SHOW MUST GO ON Nathan: "How long you been out here?" Lucas: "A couple of hours. Sometimes I come out here when I can't sleep." Nathan:
"Do you miss it?" Lucas: "Everyday! So what's up?" Nathan: "I had this messed up dream last night. Haley was drowning
and I couldn't save her. Of course, leave it to Haley to insist that we don't see each other till the wedding, even though
we're married. Maybe I should just go see her." Lucas: "I'll tell you what, I'll go check on her how's that?" Nathan:
"Tell her to stay away from the water, no swimming today." Lucas: "Nathan, it's your wedding day, again, it's gonna be
a great day."
Haley: "I have a question for you. I know you and Keith were engaged and it just, it just breaks my heart." Karen:
"I know, I know." Haley: "Okay, um, Brooke, Brooke made me this, this dress and it is out of the material that she ordered
for your wedding dress. And, I just wanted to ask you if it was okay if I wore it. And, if it's not it's fine she made another
one that I can wear." Karen: "I'm so proud of you Haley. Have I told you that lately? You have got a wonderful soul Haley
James Scott and you are going to make a beautiful bride in that dress."
Brooke: "I had this horrible dream last night
that my best friend told me she had feelings for my boyfriend. Oh, but that wasn't a dream was it?" Peyton: "Brooke!" Brooke:
"Why now Peyton?! Why would you tell me that you have feelings for Lucas now, when I have so much stuff going on in my life?!
Stuff that you don't even know about!" Peyton: "Well, so do I okay, trust me. But, I didn't wish for this alright, I wished
for Jake." Brooke: "Oh right, you wished for Jake, after you wished for Pete and then Lucas! I cannot believe this is happening
again." Peyton: "It's not okay, it's not. Okay, the last time." Brooke: "The last time! Do you hear yourself right now?
The last time you tried to steal my boyfriend! He's on the door Peyton! He’s on the damn door under me!" Peyton:
"I don't wanna steal him okay." Brooke: "But you like him." Peyton: "Brooke I'm not gonna do anything about it okay,
I'll just bury it." Brooke: "You can't, okay! It's out, it's like the time capsule! And, you could have buried it and not
said anything to me about it. So, what is that about?" Peyton: "I don't I just wanted to be honest with you alright! I
didn't wanna make the same mistake as I did last time. And, you even said last night at TRIC that you really didn't miss him."
Brooke: "Don't you dare! Don't you dare twist my words around to make yourself feel like you are not a back-stabbing two
faced bitch Peyton, because you are and you know it." Brooke (to Lucas, talking about Peyton): "We had
a fight. And, I'm stressed out about my speech and Haley's dress. And, I'm late, I'm late getting ready. And, I'm sorry." Dan:
"So, how's life without basketball?" Lucas: "It's better than life without Keith."
Nathan: "Hey, it's me, is everything
okay." Haley: "Fine, soon to be husband again. Why?" Nathan: "I just, I just wanted to hear your voice, that’s
all. Where are you?" Haley: "I'm right here..."
Lucas: "Oh, I'm sorry Princess, I was looking for my friend Haley.
(looks at tables filled with beauty and hair products.) Wow, did it really take all this stuff to make you look like
this?" Haley: "No, everybody got ready in here. Including Rachel and Brooke, for some reason." Lucas: "Wow! You look,
whew, really beautiful. So, your parents really aren't coming.” Haley: "No, they, I invited them and they said, 'Sorry
honey we've been to your wedding once before and it was a little boring.' Anyway, I'll just, I'll just give myself away. It's
fine." Lucas: "Or I could do it. If you'll have me.” Haley: "Really? Luke that would be perfect. Thank you.” Lucas:
"But, you know what, I got to be honest with you. Um, I could never officially give you away. You know that? I could never
give away my best friend.”
Peyton (to Nathan): "You had your chance." Brooke (to Cooper): "Wanna
make it a dual ceremony Coop?"
Brooke (to Peyton): "Now I know how this dress looks on a witch." Peyton (to
Brooke): "Go Brooke yourself."
Dan: "You know, one day we'll walk down that isle again Deb. You'll see." Deb:
"Open your eyes Dan. I don't love you. I'm not coming back to you. And, Keith didn't try to kill you, I did." Peyton:
"Fine. So, this is how it ends. A ten year friendship that survived two dead moms, three absentee parents, shoplifting, jail
time and we can’t survive one boy." Brooke: "Not one boy. My boy!"
Peyton (To Brooke): "And by the
way, none of those words were, 'Yes Peyton, I Love Him.'" Lucas: "I need you to trust me and believe me when
I tell you that my heart is with you. Part of me feels like ever since we got back together you’ve been waiting, waiting
to push me away." Brooke: "Oh great, so you kiss Peyton, again, and I'm pushing you away!?” Lucas: "I love you
Brooke, I don't know how else to say it.” Brooke: "How about how you show it? I'm not pushing you away Lucas. I am
holding on for dear life, but I need you to need me back. Okay, why wouldn't you tell me about the kiss and why didn't you
call me while you were away and why won't you ever just let me all the way in? We have to go give our toasts now, about love.”
Dan:
"I never apologized for the way I treated you and Lucas, or for the way I treated Keith. I suppose it’s too late." Karen:
"I'm pregnant." Dan: "I'm gonna be there for you this time Karen, it's gonna be okay." Haley: "We're going
to London for a few days." Lucas: "Why, doesn't it always rain there?" Nathan: "Oh yea!" Nathan: "I just
got that feeling. The stillness I used to feel before dawn. The feeling that the world could be perfect." Haley: "Yea,
I feel it too." (she puts the cracker jack bracelet on his wrist.) "Don’t say I never gave you anything." Lucas:
(holding pregnancy test) "Hey ma, are you pregnant?" Karen: "Yes, I am, but that’s not my purse. You know,
maybe Brooke took the wrong... Brooke." Brooke (to Peyton): "I want you to understand something, as far
as I'm concerned this friendship is over. And, if we never speak again for the rest of our lives, that'll be fine. I gave
you a second chance Peyton and you blew it." Rachel: "Is there anything I can say to keep you Cooper?" Cooper:
"No, I'm sorry Rachel, there's not." Rachel: "Too bad, because there’s something I have to tell you." Cooper:
"I don't believe you." Haley: "You’re good in a crisis." Nathan: "Nah, I don’t know about that." Haley:
"No, you are. Good thing too. Especially since I have something I have to tell you..."
Karen: "We need to talk about this pregnancy." Lucas: "Keith would be so happy. I mean I can't believe you're having
his baby." Karen: "I'm not talking about that pregnancy. Whose test did you find at the reception? Was it Brooke's?" Lucas:
"I'm not sure yet." Karen: "I'm your mother Lucas, and considering that I was pregnant at 17. I just want to know if history
is repeating itself with my son and his girlfriend."
Lucas (to Nathan): "So what, wedding wasn't enough. You
needed even more attention?" Lucas (to Nathan): "I just got Cooper to shore. You're the one who saved everybody.
You're a hero Nate."
Lucas: "Brooke kind of found out that I kissed Peyton, again." Skills: "Well, it's a good thing
you’re in a hospital; 'cause your sorry ass in bad shape bro."
Rachel: "Slut." Brooke: "Bitch." Rachel:
"Whore. Well I know I'm not in Heaven because they'd never let Brooke Davis's skanky ass through the gates." Brooke: "And,
your ass wouldn't fit; at least not the old one. How are you?" Rachel: "Is Cooper okay?" Brooke: "I don't know I'm sorry.
Do you remember what happened?" Rachel: "We were arguing." Brooke: "About what?" Rachel: "I told him I was pregnant.
But, I lied. I'm not pregnant. I just wanted to scare him."
Rachel: "He should have been awake by now. They told me
Nathan saved my life, how is he?" Haley: "How is he? He's devastated Rachel, and it's all your fault. I saw you in the
limo with Cooper. You were arguing with him weren't you?" Rachel: "It wasn't what it looked like." Haley: "You ruined
everything. You caused a huge scene at the reception. You stole the limo, and now everybody's life is worse because of you.
Does it even matter to you a little bit? Are you going to change one single thing because of it? Nathan doesn't need your
thanks and neither do I. So why don't you stay the hell away from us. All of us."
Rachel: "Do you think people can
change, Brooke? I mean, truly change." Brooke: "Well, I'd like to say yes. But, honestly I don't really think people can
change. You know at the end of the day you are who you are, and it's probably who you've always been." Rachel: "But, what
if who you've been is pretty horrible?" Brooke: "I brought you back your house keys. It's a very nice house -- big rooms,
no parents. I used to have one of those.
Brooke (to Rachel): "So, this is what it looks like when Hell freezes
over."
Rachel: "I really screwed this up Mouth; I mean we were fighting, and I grabbed the wheel. I have to get out
of here." Mouth: "You can't run away from this Rachel." Rachel: "He could die Mouth." Mouth: "Listen to me, you know
how you said you were going to tell everyone you opened the time capsule and I said not to, that you should burry it? I was
wrong. And until you face all the mistakes you've made. You’ll never change." Rachel: "People don't change Mouth." Mouth:
"But, they can, they just don’t because it's easier not to. We're always waiting for our lives to begin, and like figuring
we'll be someone else someday. But, after this accident, and losing Jimmy, and Keith; what are we waiting for? All we have
is now, Rachel. Don't run from this."
Dan: "May I?" Karen: "How's Nathan?" Dan: "I don't know really. You'd have
to ask my ex-wife." Karen: "Whose fault is that." Dan: "Fair enough." Karen: "And Cooper?" Dan: "Cooper would
be better off if he died in his sleep. Every time that immature punk comes to town my son ends up in the hospital. Hopefully
he'll be okay. Karen, would it be the strangest of things if we got a cup of coffee sometime?" Karen: "I've given up coffee
through my pregnancy." Dan: "A movie then?" Karen: "NO!" Dan: "You've given up movies too?" Karen: "No, I just
don't want to go with you." Dan: "Karen, it's just that I want to be there for you. I know I wasn't there for you and Lucas,
but you shouldn't have to raise another child on your own." Karen: "I didn't raise Lucas alone. I had Keith."
Nathan
(to Haley): "Today, for the first time in a long time, it doesn’t feel like anything's going to be okay."
Brooke:
"I'd like to talk to my boyfriend, alone. Nice job not hitting on him." Peyton: "Luke, I'll get those CDs later. Thanks
for the sex." Brooke: "Listen, I know it's been difficult for you lately. Losing Keith and your heart condition and giving
up basketball. I feel like I've been keeping you close to me to try to protect you from those things. Like I'm hanging onto
the two of us for you, but not for me." Lucas: "I'm sorry I kissed Peyton, I should have told you." Brooke: "It's not
about that Luke, it's not. mean I thought that it was, but this is not about her. This is about me. I love you Lucas, and
I probably always will. But, we go days without having a meaningful conversation. And, I used to miss you so much when that
happened. But, it never seemed like you missed me. And, I guess because of it I stopped missing you. I mean, look at today
there was a horrible accident and you hadn't even called me... it shouldn't be like this Luke. I'm sorry. I can't do this
anymore." Lucas: "Brooke, I'm sorry." Brooke: "Yea, me too."
Brooke: "Happy Birthday Brooke, welcome to 18. You've certainly made a mess of it."
Cooper: "Is everything okay?" Rachel:
"Yea, I’m fine. I was just scared that you..." Cooper: "The baby Rachel, I meant is the baby okay." Rachel: "Cooper,
when we were arguing, I was so angry and I was hurt. So, when I said I was pregnant I was just..." Cooper: "Get out! I
said get out!"
Skills: "So, Brooke just broke up with ya?" Lucas: "Yup." Skills: "Man, that's cold dawg." Lucas:
"Oh yeah." Skills: "Although you did kiss Peyton." Lucas: "You want me to get you a tryout with the Ravens, or
what?" Skills: "Yes I do. But, that still don't mean you didn't kiss Peyton." Lucas: "I love Brooke, Skills." Skills:
"I know you love her. So what, you gonna try and get her back?" Lucas: "Yeah." Skills: "Hmm.. I'm not too sure that's
the what to do it, but hey." Skills (to Peyton): "Wassup homewrecker!?"
Peyton: "Imagine a future moment
in your life where all your dreams come true. You know, it's the greatest moment of your life and you get to experience it
with one person. Who's standing next to you?" Lucas: "Umm, Kate Bosworth." Peyton: "Luke, come on, it could be anybody
you know. Your mom, Haley..." Skills: "Your boy Skills." Peyton: "Who’s it gonna be?" Lucas: "Brooke." Peyton:
"Alright, if that's what you really want, then I have a way for you to get her back."
Peyton: "Find anything good over
there Skills?" Skills: "I’m actually just pretending to be looking so I can hear all your business. I'm just waitin'
to hear your plan of how you're going to get Brooke back for this cryin' little school girl.”
Rachel: "What are
you doing?" Brooke: "Uh, seeing what it was like to be you before the surgeries."
Brooke: "Second hand death flowers,
thanks...shoot me now."
Customer: "No ones waited on our table in about 15 minutes. I ordered the Rubén, not the tuna
salad." Deb: "Oh, gosh, I'm sorry. But, judging from the size of your ass, you should try the tuna salad and consider it
a favor."
Deb (yelling to the customer): "Come again fat ass!"
Cooper (to Nathan): "Listen to
me, no matter what happened on that bridge, it was still my fault. I knew how old Rachel was, and I didn't walk away. That's
not very heroic is it? Anyways, I wouldn't even be alive to say anything if it wasn't for you."
Haley (to Brooke,
referring Deb): "She's here; she's literally out to lunch."
Rachel (to Nathan): "You have Cooper's eyes."
Karen
(to Deb): "I will not have a gun toting junkie destroy a 17 year old business."
Peyton: "What did you watch?" Lucas:
"Your legs mostly. No, I'm serious. You know, from up close they're a little chickeny, but from where I was hiding, they were
pretty awesome."
Rachel (to Brooke): "Okay, let me get this straight. You don't have feelings for Lucas anymore,
Peyton does, but she's willing to hide those feelings if you asked her to. Sounds like a pretty great friend to me."
Whitey
(to Lucas): "Not long ago, I found a kid out on that very same court. If that young man turns out to be the kind of player
and person that scrawny kid turned out to be, it’s a no brainer."
Haley: "I found your ball at home." Nathan:
"I was kind of hoping you would." Haley: "I need you to talk to me." Nathan: "Haley, I'm not trying to shut you out
okay. I just don't understand it enough to let you in yet." Haley: "Whatever it is, we're going to get through it together.
I'm right here Nathan. I'm not going anywhere."
Nathan: "I need to be tutored, I think I'm failing marriage." Haley: "You try sleeping with the
teacher?"
Brooke: "If we lose tonight, I'm going to kill Peyton." Haley: "We we'll win, Nathan's got that
look in his eye. Besides even if we did lose, it wouldn't be Peyton's fault." Brooke: "Yes it would, everything
is Peyton's fault. She's like a cursed rabbits foot. She's bad luck." Haley: (chuckles) Brooke: "I am serious
'Traitor Girl.' Do not take her side, not against me." Haley: "Hey, wait a minute, do not call me 'Traitor Girl,' okay.
I'm not taking sides, I didn't know there were sides. Brooke: "Yeah, well there are. You're either on 'Team Brooke' or
'Team Peyton' and nobody wants to be on 'Team Peyton' because their captain is a big whore!" Haley: "Okay, do think that's
a little harsh?" Brooke: "Oh you mean harsh like when they shove their tongues down each other's throats?" Haley: "That
kiss was so long ago." Brooke: "Again Haley. They kissed again." Haley: "What?" Brooke: "They're sneaking around
again too. You should really check out Peyton's web-cam sometime." Haley: (shocked) Brooke: "Welcome to 'Team
Brooke.'"
Lucas: "I'll trade my juice box for your bag of chips. And I'll throw in a cookie." Brooke "Peyton must
really need chips."
Lucas: "Remember my first day as a Raven?" Skills: "Yeah, you played like crap. I remember walking
around for a whole week talking 'bout 'man, I gotta take me a Lucas.'"
Haley: "Stay the hell away from my husband!" Rachel:
"I was just giving him a proper thank you." Haley: "Your 'thank you's' send people to the free clinic." Peyton: (laughs) Brooke
"What are you laughing about? Your 'I love you's' send people to their grave." Peyton: "Well if that's the case, then I
love you Brooke." (blows her a kiss) Brooke "Whore."
Brooke "Welcome to my house. Did you come to steal it?" Peyton:
"Uh, it's Rachel's house, and I'm pretty sure you stole it from her."
Peyton: "What the hell are you doing?" Brooke
"What?" Peyton: "Kissing Derek." Brooke "Oh I'm sorry Peyton, I can't help who I like. New boyfriend?" Peyton: "He's
my brother." Brooke "You have a brother?" Peyton: "Yeah." Brooke "Oh then I guess your mom slept around even
more than you do."
Skills: “Yo! Look I just gotta thank the brotha that helped a brotha get on the team and the
brotha who helped a brotha score once he got there.” Lucas: “I lost track, which one am I again?” Skills:
"So what's up man? How about some shots for the Scott's?" Nathan: "Look man you blew up out there, but it's only gonna
get tougher so you gotta keep bringing it alright? Skills: "Look man I'm gonna be so tight out there dawg they're about
to be callin' me 'Zip-Lock'." Nathan: "Just say you're gonna bring it Skills."
Bevin (to Skills): "Okay big
news, but keep it on the BLT. Brooke -- broke up -- with Lucas!" Lucas: "Thanks Bevin."
Derek: "It's good to meet
you man." Mouth: "What did you say your name was? Cooper?" Derek: "Derek." Mouth: "Whatever Felix. You ever been
a girls friend? It sucks. You know what else sucks? New guys." Derek: "My name's Derek." Mouth: "Right. Look if you
want to get on my good side... and you do. Stop kissing Brooke, don't even look at Rachel and don't move here. 'Cause nobody
likes new guys, New Guy. What was I talking about?" Derek: "You don't like new guys." Mouth: "Oh yeah.... damn new guys."
Haley
(sees Lucas talking to a girl): "You gonna kiss her now too?" Lucas: "Excuse me. What?!" Haley: "Brooke told
me that you kissed Peyton, again. Luke, that's the dumbest thing you've done since the first time you kissed her, what the
hell were you thinking?!" Lucas:: "I was thinking that she was dying. She's lying in my arm, blood is pouring out of her
leg and she kissed me. And anyway, you know.. do you really wanna go there?" Haley: "What does that mean?" Lucas:
"What leg were you shot in when you kissed Chris Keller?"
Lucas: "Brooke, you got a second?" Brooke: "This kind
of feels like deja vu." Lucas: "Not really. You told me to fight for you and I did. But, you never fought for me." Brooke:
"And I'm not going to." Lucas: "Okay, then I guess I was wrong. I'm not the guy for you Brooke Davis."
Haley: "I'm sorry, I'm an idiot.. I shouldn't have come at you like that." Lucas: "I'm sorry too." Haley:: "I
hate Rachel!" Lucas: "You know.. she probably just.. well, I hate her too." Haley: "I'm really sorry about Brooke." Lucas:
"Me too." Haley: "She's probably going through a lot right now." Lucas: "Yeah, well she's just gonna have to go through
it alone." Haley: "Hey Luke, will you promise me something?" Lucas: "Mmhmm." Haley: "No matter what happens, you
and I will always be friends." Lucas: "Always... and foreverrr."
Lucas: "What's up Mouth?" Mouth: "Sup Mouth?
Sup Mouth? That's all you ever say." Lucas: "You been drinking?" Mouth: "This party sucks." Lucas: "Yeah, I know
what you mean." Mouth: "Yeah, I'm sure you do. 'Cause every time you tell a girl you like her, she says what a great friend
you are, right? Oh wait, that's me. You're the guy they all throw themselves at. Brooke, Rachel, Peyton.. probably even New
Guy!" Lucas: "How many of those have you had?" Mouth: "Counting this one? One."
Peyton (to Nathan): "I
saw you come over here all by yourself. That use to be our signal."
Rachel: "If you're looking for Nathan... he's in
my bedroom." Haley: "If you're looking for a black eye, it's in my fist."
Haley: "Why do you always go after guys
you can't have?" Rachel: "Let me know if you see any." Haley: "I would except I heard he left town." Rachel: "I understand
why you're so angry Haley, I use to be a fat chick with a little head too."
Brooke: "I know you were drunk for
the wedding and in a coma for the honeymoon, but just to keep you up to speed -- Nathan and Haley are still married." Rachel:
"Thanks for that update, I hate those cute 'coupley' newsletters." Brooke: "Rachel, trying to steal a girls boyfriend is
bad enough. Trying to steal a girls husband is unacceptable! Especially when the couple is Nathan and Haley, they've been
through enough!" Rachel: "Well, I'll make a note of that in my 'Mind Your Own Business' stationary." Brooke: "No because
as one of Haley's bridesmaids, making sure they stay together is my business! She might be too classy to fight you, but I'll
kick your little ass." Rachel: "Oh I think you're gonna stay out of it." Brooke: "Really? Why is that?" Rachel: "Because
you're pregnant! So... who is the father? Lucas?" Brooke: "You don't know jack unless he's one of those guys whose beanstalk
you climbed the other night." Rachel: "You gonna kiss your unborn baby with that mouth? You have been begging me to find
out! You haven't been drinking, you're making maternity clothes, and uh I found the pamphlets from Planned Parenthood in your
nightstand, what is that bedtime reading? 'The Story of the Knocked Up Cheerleader.'" Brooke: "You were looking through
my drawers?" Rachel: "My house, my drawers! And uh, I was looking for condoms -- something you probably should have
been doing." Brooke: "I am not having this conversation with you!" Rachel: "I was talking to your baby."
Haley:
"You keep going to that bridge, I never thought I'd be jealous of a river." Nathan: "You know how much I like the water." Haley:
"I'm really trying not to be jealous and I want to be understanding, but uh it's really hard with you sneaking around." Nathan:
"I'm sorry." Haley: "I don't want you to be sorry, I want you to let me in. Whatever it is, you know... even if it has
something to with Rachel. Even if you like her, I just want you to tell me." Nathan: "You think I like Rachel? Haley, I
was just.. I was just talking to her about the accident. I just wanted to know if she saw him too." Haley: "Saw who?" Nathan:
"Keith. I think he's the one who pulled me out of that car. I'm nobody's hero." Haley: "Why didn't you tell me?" Nathan:
"Because I thought it would go away. I thought basketball would fix it, but it didn't." Haley: "Nathan, your problems are
my problems -- I want us to figure this out together. And you're wrong, you're my hero." Nathan:: "So, you don't think
I'm crazy?" Haley: "No, I do not think you're crazy. You think I'm fat?" Nathan: "What? Of course not." Haley: "Do
I have a little head?" Nathan: "No, I love your head." Haley: "So that's why you keep going to that bridge?" Nathan:
"Yeah... and for this.. (pulls the crackerjack bracelet from his pocket) I love you Haley." Haley: "I love you too
Nathan Scott."
Deb: "Shove it up your ass; I know I'm an addict. Live a week with these people and you will be too."
Brooke:
"I told you, I'm not pregnant!" Rachel: "Whatever you say, but you can't have the baby -- you'd be a terrible mother." Brooke:
"Why would I be a terrible mother?" Rachel: "Because we all turn into our parents. I mean as soon as Brooke Junior hits
puberty, Brooke Senior hits South Beach." Brooke: "I will not." Rachel: "I thought you said you weren't pregnant."
Brooke
(to Rachel): "How many after photos does Jenny Craig need anyway?"
Rachel: "It's practice for the Maxim
magazine shoot this afternoon. They're looking for Tree Hill's 'Hometown Hottie'." Brooke: "How 'bout hometown hussy? You've
got that one in the bag.”
Haley: "Hidey-Ho neighbors.” Lucas: "How was the 'Manson Family Reunion?'" Haley:
"Oh, you know, it was kinda like the end of The Lion King when all the hyenas gang up and eat Scar.”
Dan:
"Everything we say in this room is confidential, right? I killed my brother.” Therapist: "You say you killed your
brother. Can you explain that?”
Rachel: "You're completely celibate?" Shelly: "Pretty much." Brooke: "What
does pretty much?" Shelly: "Well, we Brooke ourselves." Rachel: "I'll join."
Deb: "Nathan." Nathan: "Mom,
what are you doing here?" Deb: "You have something that belongs to me." Nathan: "Mom, I'm not doing this." Deb: "I
want my pills. I’m not leaving here until I get my damn pills." Nathan: "Ok. Go ahead, take them, but I'm warning
you it's either the pills or me."
Shelly: "Why would a guy buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" Brooke:
"Okay do you realize you have just lowered yourself to a farm animal? One that's for sale no less." Brooke: "Wait a minute,
you have a virginity club and you're not even a virgin?" Shelly: "I am now, I'm a 'Born-Again Virgin'." Brooke: "A what?" Shelly:
"Just because you make a mistake doesn't mean you can't start over. I made a pledge, I re-committed." Brooke: "Shelly,
I hate to break it to you, but you're either a virgin or you're not. A pledge does not a broken hymen mend, sorry." Shelly:
"You can't tell me what to believe, I am a virgin." Brooke: "You're a hypocrite. You are walking around here preaching
celibacy to everyone and you've already sold your cow, or your milk, or... whatever!" Shelly: "Well, at least I'm not a
baby killer."
Haley: "Nathan, I know that it's really hard for you to explain what happened to you down under that
water and maybe Keith did save you, maybe you saved yourself. I don't know, but the point is either way it means that you
are supposed to be here right now." Nathan: "Hales that's not it. My mom came into school today and in front of everybody
chose pills over me."
Haley: "Stay away from him! For all I care you can go to hell, but I won't let you take Nathan
with you." Deb: "Talk to me in a few years Haley, when your dreams are dead, and your child betrays you. Then we'll see
what kind of mother you'll be." Haley: "No, no, I will never, ever be like you Deb." Deb: "Pretty soon Nathan's going
to realize playing college basketball is a lot more fun than playing house. I'll save you some pills." Haley: "Who are
you kidding Deb? Junkies don't save pills."
Peyton: "So what do you think?" Derek: "I guess I'm supposed to tell
you have too much makeup on, your skirt is too short, and the boys are after only one thing. But you look beautiful."
Brooke:
"Okay, just think about it this way, most guys buy a motorcycle cause they're compensating for, ya know, but Nathan wears
size 14's."
Nathan: "You remember that fight we had about birth control?" Haley: "Yeah, how could I forget it?" Nathan:
"Brooke and Lucas both heard that entire thing. I mean, you'd think after something like that they'd use 2 condoms. How could
she just not tell him?" Haley: "'Cause she's scared to death." Nathan: "Yeah, she should be. I mean, how do you just
tell a guy that his life is over?"
Haley: "Brooke, are you drinking?" Brooke: "Why shouldn’t I be? Tree Hill
High thinks I'm a slut, Lucas thinks I'm giving birth to Chris Keller the second, and my gossipy roommate thinks that I'd
make a terrible mother. And she's right. I can't do this Haley. I can't be pregnant anymore."
Karen: "Deb fired me." Dan:
"Fire is her specialty."
Haley: "I need to tell you something." Lucas: "Is it true, about Brooke?" Haley: "Don't
be mad at Brooke, she's been a great friend." Lucas: "I just can't believe she wouldn't tell me." Haley: "Luke, it's
not Brooke, it's me. I'm pregnant. Nathan's just been working really hard and all of his dreams are so close, and it just
changes everything." Lucas: "Nathan isn’t Dan. He'll understand." Haley: "I'm really scared Luke." Lucas: "It's
gonna be okay." Haley: "How do you know?" Lucas: "'Cause this kid's gonna have a great uncle. I learned from the best."
Karen: "Lucas, why are you coming to every checkup with me?" Lucas: "Would Keith be at every checkup?" Karen:
"Probably yeah." Lucas: "Well then there's your answer."
Nathan (answers phone): "Hello. -- Yes sir. -- A
full scholarship? -- Yes sir. -- Tell Coach K. I won't let him down. -- Thank you. -- Yes! -- Haley, I'm going to Duke!" Haley:
"I'm pregnant. It's not Brooke it's me." Nathan: "Well how long have you known?" Haley: "A few weeks." Nathan: "A
few weeks?" Haley: "I'm sorry I didn't know how to tell you. Can you talk to me? Can you tell me what you're thinking?" Nathan:
"Do you still want to go to Stanford?" Haley: "What?" Nathan: "Stanford, for college." Haley: "Um yeah I mean of
course I do but I don't..." Nathan (Rachel calls): "I have to go." Haley: "Nathan! Nathan! I'm pregnant. We're
pregnant. At least just tell me how you feel about that." Nathan: I" feel like you should've told me a few weeks ago. That's
how I feel."
Peyton: "Look I know you're a little bit jealous
of him." Lucas: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." Peyton: "Okay fine you're not jealous of him. But instead of a girl stealing
my jacket you think Derek stole it, put it on a woman who may or may not be a prostitute, and then stabbed her in the leg.
Is that what you think?"
Rachel: "I feel like we're connected somehow Nathan. Like, we're the only two people on the
planet trying to understand this. Well, maybe we can help each other through it." Nathan: "Haley’s pregnant." Rachel:
"You mean Brooke." Nathan: "No, the rumors were wrong. It's Haley. You know, ten minutes ago I was this close to my dream.
For a moment, I actually knew exactly who I was gonna be and now…" Rachel: "I didn't see Keith. I'm sorry. I heard
you talking to Peyton and the party and I'm an idiot. Nathan, you're gonna be okay." Nathan: "Sure. I owe thousands of
dollars in hospital bills, my wife is pregnant, and I think my dead uncle saved my life." Rachel: "Your parents have money,
your baby's going to be beautiful, and maybe your dead uncle saved your life because you're destined for greatness. Nathan,
if Haley wasn't pregnant did I have a shot?" Nathan: "Not for a second."
Detective: "Lucas Scott." Lucas: "Yes
sir." Detective: "Detective Wilcox. We've met before, haven't we?" Lucas: "Yeah, after the school shooting." Detective:
"I thought so. Listen, they filled me in on this whole long lost brother scenario. What else can you give me?" Lucas: "Unfortunately,
not much. I just have a really bad feeling about this guy and I'm worried about my friend Peyton." Detective: "You carried
her out.... Peyton Sawyer. You are the one who carried her out of the school." Lucas: "Yeah." Detective: "Okay. We’ll
bring him in." Lucas: "So you believe me. You don't think this sounds crazy?" Detective: "I didn't say it didn’t
sound crazy. But that look in your eye tells me that you believe it."
Haley: "Mr. Scott." Dan: "Haley, what a surprise,
come on in. What can I do for you?" Haley: "Um, I'm just here because I don’t know who else can talk to Nathan. I'm
pregnant." Dan: "Seems to be going around." Haley: "You have to know that I would never plan something like this or
try and trap him. Especially now that he's got a scholarship offer to Duke, which you didn’t know... sorry." Dan:
"First of all, congratulations. Although I am far too young and handsome to be a grandfather. And, second, don't worry. It's
not healthy. Have you told Nathan?" Haley: "He totally freaked out." Dan: "Been there. But, Haley, it's all going to
be okay. I'll talk to Nathan. Okay?" Haley: "Thank you."
Derek: "Who let you in here Peyton?" Peyton: "Uh, your
door was open." Derek: "That's odd." Peyton: "Yea. So, um, here’s the deal. You know I've really enjoyed having
you around. But, school's going to be really busy, so maybe you should just go back to St. Flora now." Derek: "It's Lucas
isn't it. He doesn't like me." Peyton: "No." Derek: "He's uh sabotaging our relationship." Peyton: "No Derek, it's
not Lucas. It's, I mean, it's my dad. He's back from sea now, so I have to spend..." Derek: "He's not even your real father!
Um, I'm sorry, Peyton. I always imagine what it would be like to know you. You know, to really get inside you. And, now I
can't ever imagine not knowing you, not mattering to you. I matter to you, don't I Peyton? (she nods) More than Lucas?" Peyton:
"Bye Derek."
Nathan: "Mom." Deb: "Nathan, is this a friendly visit, or is the DEA outside." Nathan: "I’m
not here to fight with you mom. You have a problem and you know that. I'm here to tell you that uh, Duke offered me a scholarship." Deb:
"Oh honey. Oh, congratulations. I'm so proud of you Nathan." Nathan: "There's going to be a press conference tonight. I'll
let you know where, but I really want you to be there mom." Deb: "I wouldn't miss it." Nathan: "Sober. I want you to
be there sober." Deb: "I promise you, I'll be there."
Dan: "For a second there I wasn’t sure I had the right
son." Nathan: "What do you want Dad?" Dan: "I just came by to say congratulations. You're going to be a father. Now,
get up and give the old man a hug. Oh it’s a wonderful thing son. It's sort of like getting a full ride from Duke." Nathan:
"I knew there was a catch." Dan: "Oh, hold on there’s no catch. I'm thrilled for you and Haley. But, how long have
you loved Haley? A year? And, you've loved the game most of your life. And, you've worked hard, and Duke recognizes that.
That's a hell of an accomplishment son." Nathan: "Haley's dream is to go to Stanford." Dan: "Interesting. I thought
her dream was to go on tour. Oh, wait a minute. You already let her do that didn't you?" Nathan: "Dad." Dan: “Nathan.
I like Haley. I was wrong about her okay? But, if she insists on going to Stanford, then you've got to let her go. Alone." Nathan:
"But she's pregnant." Dan: "I understand that. But if she loves you, I mean truly loves you then Haley will put her second
dream behind your first and follow you to Duke. Hey, I played ball and had you. You can do it too. The day I signed my National
Letter of Intent was the greatest day of my life This can be that day for you. But if Haley takes that away from you after
you let her go on tour, then she's not the person you or I thought she was. Think about that. You understand me know don’t
you son. I wasn't a monster back then. I was just a kid chasing his dream his whole life, and then finally earned it. Just
like you."
Haley: "Nathan. Hi." Nathan: "I'm having a press conference to announce I'm going to Duke." Haley:
"I thought we agreed we'd make that decision together." Nathan: "Well plans change, don't they?" Haley: "You know everybody's
been congratulating me about the baby and telling me how wonderful it is, except you." Nathan: "A part of me thinks it
is wonderful." Haley: "A part of you?" Nathan: "Haley what do you want me to say?" Haley: "I want you to say that
um whatever it is we're going to face it together and you've never been so happy and everything's going to be okay." Nathan:
"Haley I don't want to lie to you. This whole thing scares me to death. Look, do you wanna come with me? Haley: "To Duke?" Nathan:
"To the press conference." Haley: "I can't do that right now." Nathan: "My dad said you would say that." Haley: "You
know what Nathan; it is really not about what schools we go to or what dreams we have. Because whatever you want I want that
for you. But I really thought that the news of your child would affect you more than the news of a scholarship." Nathan:
"I'm not gonna feel guilty about this. I'm not."
Peyton: "Is it any wonder I have commitment issues?" Lucas: "Yep,
you're pretty much the Bermuda Triangle of relationships."
Karen: "Welcome to my history Haley James Scott."
Rachel:
"You alright?" Nathan: "No wife, no mom." Rachel: "Just lying bitches like me. I really wanted to help you Nathan. And
most of the time, that means sex in my world. That wasn't fair to you and Haley. Plus there's all this Cooper stuff that's
going to take years of therapy. How's Haley doing?" Nathan: "She hasn't said it but I think she's as scared as I am." Rachel:
"She shouldn't be. Unlike the rest of us, this baby's going to have two pretty great parents. Good luck."
Dan: "Greatest
day of your life." Nathan: "As uh many of you know, I called this press conference today to announce where I plan to play
basketball in college. I've had a lot of great offers but it's always been my dream to play at Duke University. So uh that's
where I plan to go. But, you know, my father said that today would be the greatest day of my life. And your right Dad, it
is, but it's not because of basketball. You see, today I learned that my wife Haley, is pregnant. And while it's an absolute
honor to be recruited by Duke University, I guess what I have to say to you today is this: where I play basketball, if I play
basketball, is no longer a decision for me to make alone. It's a decision that I'll make with my wife, and my family’s
best interest at heart. And when I do, I'll let you all know. And my wife couldn't be here today, so I just wanted to say
one thing to her. Haley, no matter what happens we'll face it together and I promise you, I've never been happier. Everything's
going to be okay and I love you." Haley: "I love you too." Nathan: "Thank you."
Psycho Derek: "Who are you?" Derek (the real one): "I'm her brother bitch."
Whitey: "You ought to
be proud of Nathan today; putting his dreams on hold so history wouldn't repeat itself." Dan: "He acted like a child." Whitey:
"No Danny. He acted like a man. I didn't know you were a religious person. Genesis 4:10."
Nathan (talking to Haley):
"You know I thought it was a miracle that I survived that accident. And, I guess I never really felt worthy of it. But, now
I know that miracle wasn’t for me. It was for us. All three of us."
Lucas: "Thanks for almost branding me with the keys." (looks around Peyton's completely white bedroom) Wow,
umm... it's bright." Peyton: "Yeah, well, 'Psycho Derek' is still out there -- I really haven't been able to sleep for
48 hours. Thought maybe I'd try to paint the shadows away."
Nick: "Okay everybody, I'm Mr. Chavez." Brooke: "Nick?" Nick:
"Peyton?" Peyton: "Here." Brooke: "I have to go to the nurse, I'm gonna be sick."
Brooke: "This is all your fault!
...Well? You skanked me into this, how 'bout you help me out?" Rachel: "I am not the one who ditched my boyfriend to have
my horns trimmed by her High School english teacher.
Lucas: "Are we expecting an outbreak of stalkerazzi photographers,
or are you just ashamed to be seen with me?" Peyton: "No, everybody knows -- I guess bad news travels fast." Lucas:
"Are you gonna be okay?" Peyton: "Every time I close my eyes, I see him there watching me and now I've got to come to school
and deal with all of them watching me?" Lucas: "Did you try calling your Dad?" Peyton: "No, look I know he will come
home the minute I call, but what's the point? Okay, it's over and there's probably like a hundred police officers out there
looking for 'Psycho Derek,' so what's my Dad gonna do?" Lucas: "Well, protect you." Peyton: "I can take care of myself." Lucas:
"Hey! I know that...but, it's okay to be afraid from time to time." Peyton: "Really, what are you afraid of?" Lucas:
"This morning I asked Whitey if I could play again." Peyton: "That's great Luke." Lucas: "Yeah, but with my heart condition,
it still doesn't change the fact that it's scary." Peyton: "Well, then why are you playing?" Lucas: "'Cause it's who
I am -- and you (lifts her hat off her head) need to be who you are." (girls look and whisper, Peyton takes her hat back and walks away.) Peyton: "I'm out of here." Lucas: "Wait! Peyton, if you let this change you... he wins." Peyton: "Well, maybe
he wins."
Skills: "Look who all up in my house dawg." Lucas: "Oh my God, you have one decent game and all of a sudden
it's your house." Skills: "I heard a rumor you might be coming off the bench in the playoffs." Fergie: "Yeah, is that
true Luke?" Lucas: "It's true, my friends. I'm back." Skills: "Okay, me and my boys back together again. Forty minutes
tonight in the big-time." Lucas: "Actually, Whitey's only given me fifteen minutes a game, you know, due to my heart condition." Skills:
"So, I guess you'll be wanting this back huh?" (hands Lucas his old jersey.) Lucas: "It's a Starters jersey, you keep it." Skills:
"You sure?" Lucas: "Yeah, I'm sure." Skills: "Cool. Alright, look, game is 21 - make or take it. Or in your case, Mr.
15 Minute Man, we goin' make the game 11." Lucas: "Alright."
(Peyton
draws a freaky picture.) Lucas: "Hmm, pretty dark don't you think?" Peyton:
"I love you Luke, but I've chosen darkness." Lucas: "Well, I just wanted to come check up on you girly. How's your head?" Peyton:
"Is it me? Am I the reason people always leave? Am I the reason all these things keep happening to me? Maybe I'm just destined
to be alone." Lucas: "It's not you and you're not alone. Eventually you're going to have to be." Peyton: "No, you're
right - I can do it." Lucas: "Alright, but just in case, you got the key to my place -- and I'm just a phone call away." Peyton:
"Thanks."
Lucas: "Hey." Peyton: "Hey, um ...I'm sorry, I tried." Lucas: "You talk to your brother?" Peyton:
"He won't call me back, he's a marine or something. -- Can I stay?" Lucas: "Sure."
(Whitey hands Lucas a jersey with the number 22.) Lucas:
"This is Keith's number." Whitey: "Yup, and I'm pretty sure he'd want you to have it."
Whitey (to Lucas):
"You know, it took every ounce of strength your mother has to come in here and ask me to take you back. She loves you that
much, enough to put your dreams ahead of her fears. You've got fifteen minutes a game to make her proud... and a lifetime
to make them both proud."
Skills: "So let me get this straight, you and Peyton just friends right?" Lucas: "Uh-huh..." Skills
(holds up a pair of ladies underwear): "I wish I had friends like that."
Lucas: "Skills, this is Peyton's brother,
Derek." Skills: "Damn... who would've guessed that Peyton's brother... was a brother." Derek: "Lance Corpral Sommers." Skills:
"Big Daddy Skills."
Peyton: "Looks like we're a little early for Smackdown." Derek: "We have a boxing team
on base." Peyton: "Oh, you better watch out for my right hook."
Derek: "The first step in learning how not to be
scared, is knowing how to defend yourself."
(Derek pushes her.) Peyton: "Derek! - Stop!" Derek: "Is that all you got? Punch me like you mean it,
Sawyer." (Peyton punches him.) Derek: "You hit like a girl." Peyton: "I am a girl." Derek: "A weak, scared, defenseless little girl." (Peyton punches him harder.) Derek: "Okay, Sawyer. So there's actually a real person in there."
Haley: "What are we gonna do Nathan?" Nathan:
"I took care of it." Haley: "I know it must've been really difficult for you, to talk to your father, thank you for doing
that for me. ----- Thank you for doing that for us."
Derek: "You can take a pass on tonight, she's going to be fine. Lucas:
"Are you sure? Derek: "No, but if you keep babying her, you'll never find out." Lucas: You know, you should really get
to know her. She needs someone special in her life, you know?" Derek:: "She's already got someone special in her life --
she has you." Lucas: "So what, you’re just gonna leave her?" Derek: "I didn't say that. I've got some experience
with late-night guard duty -- but she doesn't need to know that. She needs to know that she can do it alone."
(Haley reaches for some stacked bins in the closet.) Nathan: "Hey! Come ooon..." (Nathan pulls her down.) Haley: "Hey (laughs)
I was getting that.." Nathan: "You shouldn't be straining yourself. You can't risk falling and stuff." Haley: "Relax,
I'm pregnant, not elderly."
Haley: "I wanna go to Duke with you." Nathan: "What?" Haley: "I got my acceptance
letter from Duke, and um, it just made me think about what I want. And what I want is to make you happy more than anything
else in the world. And I wanna go to Duke with you!" Nathan: "Aw, Haley." Haley: "You've been so supportive of me and
my dream for music, so I just wanna be supportive of you and your dream for playing at Duke. So I wanna do this for us, okay?" Nathan:
"How did I get so lucky?" Haley: "It helps that you're hot." Nathan: "Well thank you, you're gonna be so happy there."
Nathan:
"What's all this stuff for anyway?" Haley: "Babysitting! I thought the extra experience and money couldn't hurt, besides
I just really don't wanna be one of those mom's who's completely overwhelmed and unprepared and always screaming at her kids
the way my Mom used to be. Ah, it's crazy... anyway, um the kids are coming by after school, and uh - you know, you should
stop by and say "Hi." Nathan: "Eh, I'll pass... I don't really like kids. -- Oh, I'll like our kid." (chuckles) Haley
(smiles and throws a doll at him.): "Yeah, get outta here ya bum."
Peyton: "Fine. If it'll get you out my
house, I'll go to school." Derek: "Fine, I'll drive you." Peyton: "Fine." Derek: "Get moving! It's 0:800" Peyton:
"I liked the other Derek better."
Derek: "You know when the world backs off Peyton? When you make it back off!" Peyton:
"Fine, back the hell off." Derek: "Okay... I guess I'm done wasting my time." Lucas: "I think I liked the other Derek
better."
(The little girl hugs Haley.) Haley: "That was actually kinda sweet." (Nathan removes a
'KICK ME' sign from her back.) Haley: "Or not." Nathan:
"You still think you like kids?" Haley: "I'll like our kid."
Nathan: "I wanna say thanks. I know how hard
it was for you to throw those points away. Look, I'll make it up to you and the team at State okay? Point shaving was just
a one time thing... it's over now." Lucas: "Nathan... you know I'll always be there for you. But, never again."
Derek: "Are you sure about the color? Because this is starting to look like that scene from the "Shinning" with those
creepy little twins."
Brooke: "Peyton I brought you something. Thought you could use it." Peyton: "Am I missing
something?" Brooke: "It's a 'To-Go' box. You know... since you're screwing my leftovers." Peyton: "Really Brooke? You
seriously went through the trouble of bringing me an actual 'To-Go' box. At least you're a dedicated bitch." Brooke: "Says
the dedicated slut." Peyton: "For the record I'm not screwing Lucas. I know you have trouble comprehending two people in
bed together actually just sleeping." Brooke: "Remember Peyton, I gave Lucas to you and I can take him back whenever I
want!" Peyton: "Brooke are you listening to yourself? If you decide to get back with Lucas. You better mean it 'cause he
deserves to be with someone who loves him." Brooke: "Someone like you?"
Haley: "Rachel. Asked me. To tutor
her." Lucas: "You're tutoring Rachel?" Haley: "Hell no, I said she asked me."
Haley: "Rachel." Rachel:
"Haley." Haley: "Look, I will tutor you on 3 conditions. The first one is you have to work around my schedule, I'm working
a ton of hours right now and I really don't care if it disrupts your social life. Second is, if you miss one session it's
over, got it?" Rachel: "Got it. So what's the third condition?" Haley: "No matter how nice I seem, you have to remember
that I can't stand you."
Lucas: "Listen I just wanted to say I'm sorry that we didn't get to spend more time together
tonight." Peyton: "How'd it go with Brooke?" Lucas: "I realized tonight that it's over between me and Brooke and she
realized it, too." Peyton: "I love you Lucas." Lucas: "I love you too Peyton." Peyton: "You don't understand. I've
been holding this in for a really long time... I just need to know. -- I love you... I'm in love with you."
Brooke: "I can't believe Whitey wouldn't let us ride the bus and thanks to Haley, we're gonna miss the game because
you had to stop and pee every other mile. This sucks." Haley: "Brooke, I'm pregnant and I'm not feeling very well." Brooke:
"I don't mean it sucks because we're gonna be late, honey. I mean it sucks because Peyton's here." Rachel: "You guys seriously
need to work things out. I mean when I was in fat girl therapy ...maybe role play. When everyone speaks as someone else, it
might help -- or it could just make things really horrible -- that could be fun too." Haley: "Okay, I'll go first. [mimicking
Rachel's voice] My name's Rachel, and I'm a dumb ass who's failing Calculus and I really like to hit on married guys." Rachel:
"See, fun. Kind of like when I slept with Nathan.... damn that was good." Brooke: "Okay, Peyton here.. I like to steal
boys, but I'm afraid to tell them how I feel." Peyton: "Speaking of stealing... Hiii! I'm Brooke and I stole my
friend Peyton's artwork so I could put it on my clothing line and I never even said 'thank you.'" Brooke: "Okay, Peyton
here again.. have I mentioned that if you love me you're probably going to die soon? See mothers 1 and 2." Haley: "Brooke..." Bevin:
"My name's Rachel and I have red hair."
Brooke: "How you doing Haley?" Haley: "Not so good." Peyton: "I'm
sure you'll be next... maybe we should try and get in touch with Nathan." Haley: "No... I don't want him to know. Not during
the game." Nurse: "Sarah LaStage!" Rachel: "Okay this is a bunch of crap. Come on." [speaking to the nurse] "Look, our
friend has been waiting a long time." Nurse: "So?" Brooke: "So? She's pregnant and she's in a lot of pain!" Nurse:
"Uh huh, well look.. I know all of you cheerleaders expect special treatment, but guess what? I never liked cheerleaders in
my school." Rachel: "It's probably because you looked, like that." Nurse: "Guess who's gonna wait a little long now?" Peyton:
"Like hell she is, come on Haley." Nurse: "Excuse me? I'll call security!" Brooke: "Yeah, call security! Why don't you
call the police and tell them you're discriminating against cheerleaders?!" Peyton: "Can we get a doctor please?!" Nurse:
"Listen to me, I don't care how special you are in your little high school, you can't just barge in here." Doctor: "What's
going on?" Peyton: "What's going on is that our friend is pregnant and she's in a lot of pain, and this bitch is about
to get her ass kicked." Doctor: "Okay, just calm down -- I'll take a look at her. You can all wait in the lobby and...
cheer for something." Haley: "Thanks you guys." Brooke: "You're gonna be okay Haley." [the girls look at the rude nurse] Rachel: "Bitch." Peyton: "Slut." Brooke: "Whore." Bevin: "Thank you."
Lucas:
"It's you." Peyton: "What?" Lucas: "When all my dreams come true, the one I want next to me. It's you. It's you, Peyton."
Keith (whispering to Nathan): "It's ok Nathan." Nathan: "Why'd you have save me Keith?! Huh? If I would have
died, then there's no Daunte, and there's no accident, and Haley and the baby are fine. C'mon Keith, you can save me but you
can't answer me? Thanks for nothing." Lucas: "So it was you?" Keith: "No, it was him. Most people are stronger than
they know... they just, forget to believe in it sometimes." Lucas: "This is my fault. I wanted to win the state championship,
I could have let him lose that game. I should have been more supportive of him and Haley!" Keith: "Right. We'll let's take
another look at that world, you know, where you're a lesser guy."
Nathan (to Haley): "Hey baby... you know how you're
always telling me you're not going anywhere? Well I need to hold you to that right now, ok? Just... I need you to come back
to me. Listen, just... move one of your fingers if you can hear me, ok? Just move one of those beautiful fingers and let me
know that you're still here with me."
Peyton (to Haley): "Hey, it's me..." Brooke (to Lucas): "Hey,
it's me... I know you've got a lot going on right now, and just so you know, Karen is a mess." Peyton: "Nathan's a mess...
but you've gotta wake up soon because I need you to take care of Brooke." Brooke: "You've gotta wake up soon because I
need you to take care of Peyton." Peyton: "I just, I can't do it anymore. And it's not like we can leave her with Rachel..." Brooke:
"Besides you're really good for her." Peyton: "And I'm not sure she can find her way without you." Brooke: "What do
you say, how bout you wake up now?" Peyton and Brooke (in unison): "Oh, and can you not tell her we had this conversation?
Thanks."
Keith (to Lucas): "It's a special thing.. saying 'I love you' to people you love. Because you never
know when you'll lose them, or when they'll lose you."
Keith: "It's ok Nathan, just breathe. It's gonna be ok." Nathan:
"Look, I know I did a horrible thing, ok? But I deserve to be punished for that, not Haley. She's a good person and she'd
be a great mother if... Look I know it must suck how people are always asking for things and never giving anything back. And
I know that Keith saved me at the bridge, but Haley saved me long before that accident. There has to be a miracle left for
her, please, please. Don’t take her from me. Don't take our child from her. Keith: "It's ok Nathan, just breathe.
It's gonna be ok." Peyton (Peyton opens the chapel door): "Nathan..." Haley (in her hospital bed): "Hi." Nathan:
"Hi." [Hugs and kisses her.]
Keith: "You know, you've got a lot of good things in this life, Luke. You've got family
and friends. Love. Those are the things that are worth believing in." Lucas: "Is there a heaven... Keith?" Keith: "I
don't know, is there?" Lucas: "You know you really suck at this? Because if there is I was wondering if I could go with
you." Keith: "Well Luke that’s up to you, the future right now is, unwritten. But I want you to understand. If you
go back there are gonna be some tough times, you know? Some heartache and pain... but there's also gonna be love, laughter
and a life full of accomplishment." Lucas: "Who’s the woman at Peyton's grave?" Keith: "Someone who used to know
her. But it's not Peyton's grave." Lucas: "What do you mean?" Keith: "Well Peyton lived because you saved her that day." Lucas:
"Well then who's grave is it?" Keith: "It's your grave Luke. If that's what you choose." Lucas: "And the woman?" [Older
woman changes into a young Peyton.] Lucas: "Peyton!" Keith: "She lived a good life Luke, but she could never let go
of you."
Lucas: "I have to go back." Keith: "Are you sure?" Lucas: "I never told Peyton I love her. I wanna go
back." Keith: "Ok. Well, I guess this is the hard part..." Lucas: "Keith..." Keith: "Luke, you know I love you. And
I always will... but I'm afraid it’s time for me to go." Lucas: "But I don't want you to go!" Keith: "Luke, it's
ok." Lucas: "God, I am going to miss you so much." Keith: "But why? I'm with you every day. I'm with you every day.
Besides, we'll see each other again." Lucas: "We will?" Keith: "You believe that. Now uh, this is gonna hurt a little
bit. I love ya kid. --- It's ok Lucas, just breathe. It's gonna be ok."
Lucas: "I still don't believe Jimmy killed
you Keith." Keith: "Well then why do you? Jimmy Edwards was your friend Luke, you knew him, you were kind to him. After
everything we've seen, don't you think that that kindness made an impact?" Lucas: "But if it did then you would still be
alive." Keith: "Do you really believe that Luke? Look into your heart, ok? It may be flawed physically but it's a good
one. It's what makes you you. Look you've changed other people's lives by opening it up, don't close that off! Luke just look
around this hallway. You were here that day, what did you see?" Lucas: "I didn’t see anything!" Keith: "Open your
eyes Luke, open your eyes the way you opened your heart. Open your eyes Luke! Open your eyes Luke! Open your eyes! Open your
eyes Luke! Open your eyes Lucas!" [Sound of a gun shot -- Lucas wakes up.]
Deb: "I don't belong here, I'm a good person. So I pop pills, I haven't killed anybody. Sure maybe I started a fire
once, and I did discharge a firearm recently, but it was an accident. The bottom line is... I don't need this place." Counselor:
"Deb, I've been in your shoes." Deb: "Gucci? I don't think so."
Peyton: "Sorry I was being a weirdo earlier." Lucas:
"You mean when you didn't kiss me on the quad or when you said dreams are e-mails from ghosts." Peyton: "Both."
Nathan: "So how naked do we have to get?" Skillz: "See I knew you would come around."
Brooke: "What do virgins
talk about?" Mouth (sarcastically): "Oh, we like rainbows and kittens!"
Nathan: "I don't feel like such a good guy right now." Haley: "Why?" Nathan: "I went to see my mom this morning
and I think I was kinda hard on her." Haley: "Babe, if anybody's needed tough love, it's your mom." Nathan: "I know.
But she's gonna be released in a few days and she told me she's scared to be alone in the house. She's gonna slip Haley, I
can feel it!" Haley: "Oh, then why don't we do something about it?" Nathan: "Like what?" Haley: I don't know... we
need to save money, she needs help. We could let the apartment go and we could move in to her house. Yeah! Look, it'd be perfect!
We'd save a ton of money, we'd be there to watch her 24/7, and everybody wins!" Nathan: "And Peyton thinks I'm a martyr." Haley:
Well, you know, she's your family, she's a train wreck but she's your mom." Nathan: "You'd do that for her?" Haley:
"No, but I'd do that for you."
Dan: "You don't wanna be the guy looking back at blue ruffles." Lucas: "Ah, good
point. So what'd you wear to prom?" Dan: "Blue ruffles."
[Lucas and Peyton make out on his bed.] Peyton: "Your
mom is gonna come in any second." Lucas: "She's working at the cafe, nobody's gonna walk in." Brooke: "Okay, my discomfort
meter is pretty much pegged."
Skillz: "Damn, Nate mom like the alcoholic Easter bunny."
Haley: "Uhm, have you
guys seen Rachel?" Chase: "She was holding court in the living room." Haley: "Clothed or unclothed?" Brooke: "Clothed,
but it was about ten minutes ago, so you never know."
Skillz: "Don't look now, Mouth, but Shelly all up in here right
now." Mouth: "Where?" Skillz: "12 o'clock and closing fast." Mouth: "Okay, on the count of three we're out of here.
ready? Three."
Nathan (Sees Lucas holding a picture of Keith): "Luke, you gotta help me find some booze, man,
or it's going to get ugly down there. You gotta let this go man. Keith's gone, Luke. Jimmy's gone. Nothing's going to bring
them back. But you got a ton of people that love you out there and in a few months, most of those people are gonna go their
separate ways. So what do you say big brother? Let's have some fun."
Nathan: "Haley! I heard you were fighting Rachel.
You punched her?" Haley: "It was more of a bitch slap..." Skillz: "Yeah, that was after she threw the drink at her."
Brooke: "And which evil stepsister are you?" Rachel: "The one that got expelled."
Rachel
(to Lucas about Brooke): "Didn't you see enough of her last night? Or are you here for the deleted scenes?"
Rachel:
"Thanks for being my friend, you cheating whore." Brooke: "Thanks for being my friend, you crazy bitch."
